Colonel David B. Kelly was a New Jersey State Trooper for 28 years, serving as Superintendent for 9 years. During his career, he was an instructor at the State Police Training Academy, Sea Girt, NJ. He was a strong believer in the intrinsic value of education.

Since its inception, the Colonel David B. Kelly Foundation has awarded over 140 collegiate scholarships to children of New Jersey State Troopers in recognition of their dedication to protect and serve the citizens of New Jersey.

The Foundation is funded solely by donations and its only fund-raising event, the annual Colonel David B. Kelly Foundation Golf Tournament.
