Rock gardens are gardens composed of plants and flowers that grow well among rocks. They are often based on low growing and compact flowering perennials and bulbs. They include open gardens, raised beds, woodland gardens, bog gardens, and container gardens. Gardening in our climate is always different from gardening
elsewhere in the country, and membership in SRGS gives you the benefit of learning from fellow gardeners that have been gardening in the same climate. What works for the rest of the country doesnโt always work here! Our membership draws from many backgrounds and interests, and contains enthusiasts in Western natives, Mediterranean plants, and many other rock garden plants. While our members vary greatly in their levels of experience, they all share an enthusiasm for plants and a willingness to share their own gardening experiences. We hope to inspire all of our members to expand their gardening horizons. We hold plant and cutting exchanges, tour each others gardens, and generally have a lot of fun while learning about plants.
