🇺🇸 GI Joe’s Movie Night – August Feature! 🎬

This month’s movie is a really great contemporary PBS documentary, The Last 600 Meters, covering two of the major battles of the Iraq War—the Battle of Najaf and the Second Battle of Fallujah.

I think it’s especially important for Vietnam-era veterans like myself to get a better understanding of what later wars were like for the men and women who were there. This film offers a powerful look at the experiences of those who fought in these intense urban battles.

You won’t regret seeing this one.

Thanks Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce for sharing this post! We hope to see you all at our event next month!

Rev up for the Veterans All American Car Show, hosted by VFW Post 1943. This annual community favorite brings together classic American cars and trucks for a full day of nostalgia, live music, and family-friendly fun—all in support of local veterans.

Enjoy food, craft beer, vendors, and a lively atmosphere while checking out an impressive lineup of pre-1976 American-made vehicles. With a silent auction and plenty to see and do, it’s a great way to spend the day and give back to those who’ve served.

Held at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Building, this event is open to all—come for the cars, stay for the community.

🍻 What a great time at last night’s Happy Hour at GI JOE’S Veterans Lounge! 🇺🇸

It was wonderful seeing everyone, catching up with old friends, and enjoying some great conversation and camaraderie.

We were honored to have John Gray, Commander of VFW Post 1943; USMC Major General Mike Myatt, Retired; US Congressman Mike Thompson; Ken Thornton; Dennis King; and Ken Foote join us at GI JOE’S Veterans Lounge.

A great evening celebrating friendship, fellowship, and the bonds that bring our veteran community together. 🇺🇸🍻

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable evening!
