Two Boy Scout troops assisted other passengers and provided first aid to those who were injured when a Chicago-bound Amtrak train derailed in Missouri.

The Pacific Coast Air Museum returns to IN PERSON Aviation Merit Badge classes next Saturday, June 18th!

Classroom activities will be held in PCAM’s new Hanger 2 Exhibition Hall utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. The completely remodeled aircraft hangar features overhead projector and screen, and spectacular sound system with ample seating and tables. Hanger walls lined with historical aviation artifacts and photos. The course includes inspirational aviation videos with topics including aviation history, elements of flight, weight and center of gravity calculations, flight planning, careers in aviation and hands-on working with aircraft aluminum using hand operated rivet tools.

PCAM volunteer Docents including pilots, aircrew, maintainers, engineers and builders provide open cockpit tours of historic military and commercial aircraft. Qualified PCAM member’s will also be providing Scouts local flights over Sonoma County.

To Register go to the pacificcoastairmuseum.org web page. Select Education and Merit Badge to download Registration and Flying Permit forms. Completed and signed forms along with checks or money orders should be mailed to the Pacific Coast Air Museum, One Air Museum Way, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.
