Lyon Ranch Lyon Ranch Therapy Animals is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that rehabilatates neglected/abused animals.

The animals that recover and enjoy humqn interaction become animal ambassadors in our outreach programs led by three animal professionals. Located in Sonoma, California, we take any number of our 70+ animals to nursing homes, hospitals, retirement communities, senior citizen centers, and various other events throughout the Bay area. Many of our animals have been rescued from neglect and abuse, or were scheduled to be euthanized. These pets now serve to benefit the emotional and physical health of the elderly, patients in psychiatric hospitals and in long-term care facilities.

Some good news! We’ve ordered Dolores her wheelchair and hopefully it will be here soon! We are so excited for Dolores and thankful to all of those who have donated towards her wheelchair fund.

We still haven’t met our fundraising goal and would appreciate it if you could share this post and help spread the word. 💕

We’ll post photos and videos of Dolores in her wheelchair as soon as we get it!

Who did this?! Faith the ferret and Lyon Ranch are sending a HUGE thank you to whoever bought ferret-related items from our Amazon wishlist. ❤️❤️❤️

The ferret vitamin paste and “duk soup” are two of our biggest needs and we’ve been using a lot of both with Faith’s recent intake. Then the toy balls are always a hit with our ferrets. Thank you so much again to our secret Santa!!

Help Dolores walk again!

Have you heard about Dolores? She's the newest Lyon Ranch rescue animal and we are fundraising to buy her a wheelchair. Dolores can only walk a few feet at a time with quite a bit of difficult too.

Let's change Dolores' life and get her back on her hooves again!

Help Dolores get a wheelchair!

Hi everyone! We’re writing to you from Lyon Ranch on behalf of our newest resident, Dolores the goat. Dolores is at least 10-15 years old and has a few different problems that are impacting her quality of life.

Dolores had a broken leg at one point that was improperly set and it’s caused her to spend the majority of her life limping. Recently, Dolores injured a second leg, and now she spends a majority of her time on her knees to eat or laying down. This video is the most we have seen Dolores walk and she had to lay down immediately after. On top of those leg issues, Dolores also has terrible arthritis.

Dolores was surrendered to us for this reason and now we want to give her the best possible quality of life, which our vet has suggested includes a custom wheelchair.

We are hoping to raise the funds for Dolores’ wheelchair via donations and are asking the community for help.

If you would like to help Dolores, there’s two things you can do.

First, donate towards Dolores’ care through www.lyonranch.org

Second, spread the word! We want everyone to know that Dolores needs help. Even if you can’t donate, we would love and appreciate any help sharing her story.

Dolores has had hoof infections on both back legs which she is currently being treated for. She also needed major hoof work and will continue to need treatment for her overgrown feet. Dolores’ new family at Lyon Ranch has been hard at work to make Dolores happy and comfortable. We can’t wait to see how Dolores continues to recover and settle in at the ranch.

An update on the ferret found in a ditch. Faith has been settling in with us and seems to show genuine gratitude about her new life. Not all ferrets are “big talkers”, but Faith runs around the living room dooking (ferret chatter) and playing with our other rescued ferrets. We have addressed Faith’s adrenal disease with a vet visit and hormonal implant and are hopeful that she will regrow her hair soon. Follow us to stay tuned on Faith’s journey and when she will be introduced to our Ambassador Program as a therapy animal. First, she needs lots of rest and love. 💕 Want to help support Faith’s care? Come meet animals TODAY! Our critters are getting themselves ready to meet everyone! Join Lyon Ranch and at Pronzini Ranch (Petaluma) 3PM-8PM Sunday, August 30th and help us support Food Not Fentanyl. Food Not Fentanyl is an amazing event created by Sax's Joint so you can expect good food and live music in addition to family activities and live exotic animals including Freddy the camel! Food Not Fentanyl! Join us this Sunday, August 30th 3PM-8PM at Pronzini Ranch for animals, food, music, and fun for all ages! This fundraiser was arranged by Sax's Joint for the benefit of Micahs Hugs Foundation and we couldn’t be happier to support such a great cause. ❤️ Entry is $40 for anyone 12+, with free entry for kids 12 and under.
