Lyon Ranch

Lyon Ranch Lyon Ranch Therapy Animals is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that rehabilatates neglected/abused animals.

The animals that recover and enjoy humqn interaction become animal ambassadors in our outreach programs led by three animal professionals. Located in Sonoma, California, we take any number of our 70+ animals to nursing homes, hospitals, retirement communities, senior citizen centers, and various other events throughout the Bay area. Many of our animals have been rescued from neglect and abuse, or

were scheduled to be euthanized. These pets now serve to benefit the emotional and physical health of the elderly, patients in psychiatric hospitals and in long-term care facilities.

Poor Benny had all his teeth pulled yesterday due to AGGRESSIVE stomatitis. Thankfully our little guy is recovering smoothly and we are so grateful to our friends at . Dental health is so important to an animal’s quality of life and we can’t recommend them highly enough. ❤️

Here’s the website to NBVD if anyone is in need- their prices are straightforward, reasonable, and they don’t try to run up the bill with unnecessary tests/procedures.

Romeo the Moluccan cockatoo wanted to say thank you to the kind person who recently donated food and other goodies through our Amazon wish list! It felt like Christmas for both the humans and the birds. ❤️ We offer our birds a variety of different foods for not only health purposes but for their mental enrichment as well. Romeo also gets lots of fresh food items like fruits, veggies, cooked eggs from our rescue hens, and even legumes.

We hope to see you there!

Meet Penelope, Grey, and Tippy ❤️

Lyon Ranch has over 250 rescued animals, and 18 of those animals are domestic house cats. Let us introduce three of our furry friends!

Penelope is about 6 years old and grew up in a storm drain. She was kept alive/rescued by a friend of the ranch before coming to live with us and we’ve been so happy to have her. Penelope was rescued with her brother, Seven, who she isn’t afraid to boss around. Penelope loves to snuggle and is a total love bug. Penelope struggles with a hyperthyroid and receives medication twice daily along with monthly bloodwork checks to ensure she stays healthy.

Grey is estimated to be about 18 years old now and still acts like a kitten. His favorite place in the world is right on your lap with constant petting. Grey struggles with kidney disease and has had unusual bloodwork in the past few months resulting in monthly (sometimes bi-monthly) vet visits and bloodwork. We are hopeful that we can better understand his condition as we continue to work through different treatment options.

Tippy is at least 10 years old, according to her microchip, and is named for the white tip on the end of her tail. Abandoned on the street, Tippy came to live with us this past winter, and we couldn’t be happier to have her at Lyon Ranch with us. Tippy is a talker and loves to be petted while meowing/yelling at you about her day. Tippy has had abnormal bloodwork since coming to live with us and is currently on prednisolone with monthly vet visits/bloodwork to monitor her condition.

Do you want to sponsor one of our kitties for this month’s vet visit? Donate to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit via www.lyonranch.org to help pay for this month’s bloodwork. Even $1 makes a genuine difference in the lives of our animals whether it goes towards paying for Penelope’s bloodwork and thyroid medication, Grey’s bloodwork, or Tippy’s bloodwork and prednisolone medication. Thank you and with love from the ranch. ❤️❤️
