LPA learned that Andrew Smith, chair of Little People UK since 2023, has passed away. We are grateful for his passion and advocacy for the dwarfism community and send our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and community.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Smith.

Andrew has been chair of Little People UK since 2023, stepping into the role during a period of change and providing stability, dedication and of course, his unique sense of humour. Long before this, Andrew was a passionate supporter of LPUK and a friend to so many within our community. We know he will be greatly missed and we want you to know we are here to support.

Outside of LPUK, Andrew was an incredible role model for people with dwarfism. He worked as a call dispatcher for Essex Police and had an unmatched passion for cycling. One of his many achievements was completing RideLondon, cycling an incredible 100 miles around the roads of London!

But most importantly, Andrew was a devoted husband to his wonderful wife, Laura, and a loving father to his children, Amber and Theo.

Our thoughts and love are with all of Andrew’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. We kindly ask that they are given the privacy and space they need to grieve.

Another amazing year at Camp Little People! Over 70 campers joined us for an unforgettable weekend, making new memories with old and new friends while enjoying activities including archery, swimming, soccer, baseball, paddle boating, bingo, arts and crafts, visits to the nature center, and so much more.

We are incredibly grateful to our grant donors, including the Ford Foundation, for allowing us to offer camp at no cost to LP children and at a subsidized rate for families.

We are already looking forward to returning to camp next year! Dates will be announced soon. For more information, visit ercamplittlepeople.org or email us at [email protected]
