Amu Arts is honored to present Japanese artists at the CODEX Book Art Fair & Symposium from February 7~10, 2026 at the Oakland Marriott Civic Center. We will be hosting visiting artists Ryoko Adachi, Kyoko Matsunaga, and Tatsuhiko Niijima from Japan, each representing a unique lineage within contemporary Japanese book arts.

Join renowned chef Seiji Wakabayashi for a delicious exploration of Okonomiyaki, the savory Japanese pancake, in this special culinary workshop this Sunday from 11am to 1pm!

Watch a live demonstration and tasting featuring five unique toppings, and take home recipes to recreate this dish in your own kitchen.

After you savor the flavors, co-curator, Maki Aizawa, will lead a tour to visit the Book Becoming Art exhibit at SVMA to experience the artwork of Veronika Schäpers, who captures the essence of Japanese street food in her art books.
