Welcome back to Building Biodiversity, our series where we give you a sneak peek into the pollinator-friendly plants that are blooming in Sonoma Garden Park's Native Plant Nursery, bringing beauty and biodiversity to gardens and wildlands across the Valley and beyond.
This week's spotlight is the Western Columbine (Aquilegia formosa)!
The Western Columbine is a striking native perennial featuring dangling red and yellow spurred flowers. It benefits local ecosystems by providing vital nectar for hummingbirds and butterflies, offering ornamental beauty in shady garden spots, and supporting native wildlife.
Find it at Sonoma Native Plant Nursery! The Nursery is open by appointment (email [email protected]) and every Friday, 12:00-3:00 pm for our weekly Native Plant Sale.
Sonoma Garden Park is located at 19996 7th Street East in Sonoma
