Happy 49th Birthday Sky Farm Hermitage! Blessings dear friends new and old as we celebrate the beginning of the 50th year since Fr Dunstan Morrissey founded Sky Farm Hermitage. We are beyond thankful for his vision and for all the friends over this half century. Thankful for new friends who value stillness and silence, reflection and joy. Rejoice with us and may blessings flow.

Hello dearest friends,

We are with you in prayer and wish you a Blessed Happy Easter. May these words bring peace to every heart!

Sister, brother, if...you carry a dark hour in your heart, a day that has not yet dawned, a buried light, a broken dream, go, open your heart with amazement at the announcement of Easter: “Do not be afraid, He is risen! He awaits you in Galilee.” Your expectations will not remain unfinished, your tears will be dried, your fears will be overcome by hope. Because, you know, the Lord always precedes you, he always walks in front of you. And, with him, life always begins again.

Happy Thanksgiving dearest friends. It looks like Spring here after the incredible 16 inches of 24 hours received in early November. The creeks are still flowing and each day the grass deepens in color. We had some flooding for the first time in 19 years but this too has transformed Br Francis’ cell so his prayer space is waterproofed and welcomes his long practice of prayer and stillness. Thank you for returning to Sky Farm to be present to grace this year, and thank you for your friendship and loving support of this sacred place where God is met in silence and ones soul expands with hope and renewal. Always a deep connection exists between us and today we pray that your heart also holds dear the many blessing of this year. It was a hard year too and we know from our correspondence that some of these blessings were had through illness, loss of loved ones, the insecurity of moving to a new place and hardship. Hold these close today too.

Hermitage Re-opening November 5th! Thank you for your patience and care during this challenging time.
We will re-open with Covid-19 precautions and have begun taking reservations. For your safety we’ll be receiving only one guest at a time, so you will have private access to Refectory/Library and the Chapel, but there will be no Morning Prayer in common for now.

Hello everyone and thank you for all the Happy Birthday wishes!!!! It is SKY FARM'S Birthday. It's been 45 years of radiating the presence of God in creation and in each of us. We are so grateful to celebrate today and deeply thankful for all your generosity and for letting Sky Farm renew your heart and soul too. Thank you.
Please pray for cooler weather and our coastal fogs to come in and help the firefighters. So many people, even some of you, are evacuated from your homes. This is made all the harder by our efforts to stop the spread of Covid too. Sky Farm is vulnerable but ok so far. We are ready if it becomes necessary to leave but Br Francis that he has brought out the Big Guns! This is his favorite icon of Christ~ so we are praying and then trusting that "All will be well!"

Blessings this very early First Day of Spring. It is as rare as being part of this moment in history. Like the balance of light and darkness today, this is a time to pay attention to the things that are good about these days and the ones that are difficult. Not just practical things but what makes me feel peace and what makes me unravel. Are their things we are doing at home that are actually special and bringing us closer together? It's a good time to take note in photos or journaling. It's a really good time to pray a rosary, do a prayer walk, sit and be in God's presence for a quiet hour. Let you mind empty of worry for a time. Again I recommend joining people for this hour of prayer. I do it with my eyes closed, usually laying flat on the floor so as not to be distracted. Today's was especially good.
