Our Sharing Pantry

Our Sharing Pantry Our purpose is to provide food for persons in need. We serve every Thursday morning from 8:30 - 10:30 AM and the 3rd Monday of the month from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

We are located at St. John's Lutheran Church at 235 S. Green Street in Somonauk, IL 60552.

Well guess what today is??? Monday, May 18th is the 3rd Monday of the month! That means OUR SHARING PANTRY is open for business for the afternoon/evening shift! We are open for distribution from 4:00 - 6:00 PM TODAY! Not only do we have friendly volunteers to assist you, and hundreds of food items to serve you, BUT we have patio tomato plant buckets ready for you to start growing your own garden! Be sure to stop by today to shop and pick up a tomato plant!

Thank You to our local community AND especially all of our USPS mail carriers for your support during the "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive on May 9th! We are blessed with thousands of wonderful donations from the Somonauk and Sandwich Post Office collections! Our shelves will be stocked with great items for weeks to come! THANK YOU!!!!

We join together with our local post offices today to Stamp Out Hunger!

TODAY, On Saturday, May 9, 2026, as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual nationwide food drive, the largest one‑day food collection event in the U.S., our local postal carriers will be collecting food.

How It Works:
Place non‑perishable food donations in a bag next to your mailbox on May 9.
Your letter carrier collects the donations during their regular route.
Food is delivered to local food banks (INCLUDING OUR SHARING PANTRY) to help keep food stocked on our shelves for the coming summer months!

Good Morning! We would like to invite all of our friends and neighbors to come out to Our Sharing Pantry TODAY at 8:30 AM to check out our new raised bed vegetable gardens! Today we will begin our growing journey with a blessing of the soil. Please join us at St. John's Lutheran Church at 235 S. Green St. in Somonauk.

We will also begin distribution of patio tomato plants for our neighbors who would like to grow their own vegetables, but don't have the space for a garden!

Thank you to everyone in our community for supporting us in our newest projects!

We are SOOOOO lucky to be blessed with amazing VOLUNTEERS here at Our Sharing Pantry in Somonauk! For the month of May, we will be highlighting some of the special projects happening at the pantry!

Today we are celebrating Chuck, Alan, and Jerry for their hard work putting together our new rolling shelves! And an additional "shout out" to Home Depot in Yorkville for the grant which allowed us to make this purchase!!! THANK YOU and MUCHAS GRACIAS!

We want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to the families and staff at Somonauk Christian Preschool for their kind donation of toiletries and food items for the Pantry!

With their generous donation today from their Grandparents Day celebration and other collections, we can restock our shelves to be ready for our weekly distribution, tomorrow, Thursday morning!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
