To support the school district’s Plan for Teaching and Lea

2. Award scholarships to students and grants to teachers’ programs to support and enrich the educational experience in the district’s schools.

3. Encourage school/community partnerships and promote a better understanding of school district needs and aspirations.

4. Provide a vehicle for individuals and organizations to donate resources that will be used to support the Foundation’s mission.

5. To plan and provide for the Foundation’s future through endowment opportunities.

🍎 33 Years of Excellence: Let’s Honor Mr. Streicher!

After 33 years of incredible heart and soul poured into the Somonauk School District, Superintendent Jay Streicher is retiring. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor his legacy than by supporting the schools he loves.

We are launching the "Give 33 to Celebrate 33" campaign! Whether it’s $33 or $330, let’s flood the foundation with support in his honor on May 7th.

What does the Somonauk Education Foundation actually do? Thanks to you, we provide:

🎓 $20,000 in annual college scholarships.
🍎 $10,000 in Mini-Grants for classroom innovation.

Would you like to support SEF on Give DeKalb County day but do not want to use a card online? No problem! Follow these instructions to mail or drop off your donation.

By Mail: April 23 – May 7 download a donation form at givedekalbcounty.org and mail your completed form with a check payable to “DCCF” for the total donation amount to: DeKalb County Community Foundation – 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178.

In Person: May 7 Donation Drop-Off Event at the Community Foundation, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Following the event, donors may drop off donations until 5:00 p.m. or use the exterior mailbox after hours.
