VFW Post 529 - George Dilboy Post Founded in 1920, the George Dilboy Post is a branch of the national Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States organization.

The George Dilboy VFW Post in Davis Square has been a cornerstone of the community for decades. The function hall routinely serves as a basecamp for HONK! Festival, the annual M.O.M.'s run, brewfests, and reunions - and can be rented out for any private party or occasion. More importantly, the post is dedicated to serving local warfighters from each generation. Outreach, support, and assistance for US veterans of any foreign war is the cornerstone of the post community.

Purple Heart Day is observed every year on August 7 to honor the brave service members who were wounded or killed in combat while defending our nation. It’s a day to pause, reflect, and recognize the extraordinary sacrifice behind this medal—one that represents courage, resilience, and devotion to country.

If you know a Purple Heart recipient, we kindly ask that you refer them to our Veterans Department. We would love to honor them at our next veterans breakfast.
