Residents, business people, and city officials have been working together to plan a Neighborhood Council to influence this transformation.

All of us on the USNC board are excited to bring you our first ever Kickball Connect community event. TOMORROW: 10:30AM @ LINCOLN PARK. Come cheer on six teams of neighbors, local organizers and even some elected city officials as they vie for the top spot in this friendly sporting match.

The event will also feature “Tell Your Somer-story” conversations, and a new USNC banner created with help from YOU! Learn more about what the USNC is up to, and how you can get involved.

We will have water, popsicles and some light snacks. We also encourage everyone to bring a beach chair or blanket, your kids, friends, partners, parents and pets! The weather looks perfect, come stay for a while!

Lastly, we are doing a collection for the Somerville Community Fridges. Bring any shelf-stable item and we’ll get it out to the fridges this weekend.

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Saturday, August 29th starting at 10:30am in Lincoln Park, The Union Square Neighborhood Council hosts the upcoming Kickball Connect Community Event.

More than just kickball, this fun and informal event will include:
* Local nonprofit and community tables
* Art-making and banner activities
* “Tell Your Story” conversations
* Trivia and new volunteer opportunities
* Refreshments
* Opportunities for neighbors to meet and connect

Kickball registration is open at linktr.ee/usnc2017
$30 per team (minimum 7 players, maximum 15 players per team; at least 2 women and 2 men per team; one member designated as captain) or $5 if you’d like to sign up as an individual and be placed on a team.

A collection of community groups, including the Union Square Neighborhood Council and Neighbors in Action, is excited to invite you to join us at a forum of all five candidates for the MA 2nd state senate seat, July 16th at Somerville High School starting at 7 pm.

This is our chance to hear directly from the candidates themselves about their platforms, their opinions on the issues, and their vision for our district. We’re soliciting questions from residents, community groups, and businesses in the Middlesex 2nd to ask the candidates. *To submit a question, and register for the event, either in person or virtually, check out the link in bio*

The Union Square Neighborhood Council is excited to invite local organizations, nonprofits, artists, makers, volunteers, and neighbors to join us for our upcoming Kickball Connect Community Event! It’s Saturday, May 30 at Lincoln Park starting at 2:30pm.

We’re putting together a fun, welcoming community day centered around a kickball tournament, neighborhood connection, and local organizations coming together in one shared space.

The event will include:

• A community kickball tournament
• Local nonprofit and community tables
• Art-making and banner activities
• “Tell Your Story” conversations
• Trivia, raffles, and games
• Popsicles and refreshments
• Opportunities for neighbors to meet and connect

We would love to have your organization involved! Whether you’d like to host a table, share resources, promote upcoming programs, volunteer or simply come hang out and support the community - we’d be excited to have you join us. This event is meant to be informal, collaborative, and community-driven. Bring materials if you’d like, or just bring yourselves.

Kickball registration is also open at linktr.ee/usnc2017. It’s $25 per team (minimum 7 players, maximum 15 players per team; at least 2 women and 2 men per team; one member designated as captain) or $5 if you’d like to individually sign up and form/join a team on game-day.

Please feel free to share this with other community groups, neighborhood organizations, artists, and residents who may want to participate.
