Somerville Cub Scout Pack 3

We are Cub Scout Pack 3 of Somerville, MA. All families with kids in grades K through 5: welcome! The outdoors is a fine place to be doing Cub Scouts!

We are an awesomely fun Cub Scout Pack located in Somerville, MA. We camp, hike, make marshmallow shooters, sing songs (both funny and serious), fish, build wooden race cars, learn to use a pocketknife safely, help with community projects, learn to respect and care for the flag, do indoor climbing, play games, put on skits, visit battleships, shoot BB guns and bow-and-arrow, and pretty much any ot

her fun thing. We welcome all youth in grades K through 5 (or the equivalent ages) to join us, along with their families! We accept each other's differences and diversity, and we maintain that intolerance (and politics) have no place in a Cub Scout Pack. As the COVID situation allows us to, we meet both indoors and outdoors for activities, fun, and games. Our indoor home base is at Connexion, located at 149 Broadway. We have a meeting or activity for the whole pack at least once each month. Other weeks, smaller groups of same-age scouts (called "dens") meet at a location that works for the den. Most months, we also do some sort of awesome outing or overnighter as a pack. Interested in learning more or visiting a meeting? Contact us, and we'll get you the info.

Our community Pinecar Derby at Bow Market was super fun and raised some funds to make our activities more accessories to all families.

Looking for a fun family project over April break? Somerville Pack 3 is collaborating with Bow Market to host an all ages Pine Car Derby on April 26th.

Come to our car cutting workshop on April 21st at Bow Market Upstairs to learn to make a derby car, design your car, and get your car cut to your specifications.

The workshop is free, and car kits will be available for free at this event for those registered for the derby. Otherwise, kits can be bought for $8.00 at the workshop.

Somerville Cub Scout Pack 3 is working with Bow Market in Union Square to run the 1st Annual Bow Market Pine-car Derby on Sunday, April 26, 2026 (Rain date 5/3/2026). Anyone is welcome to sign up for this all ages race and design competition. https://buytickets.at/bowmarket/2115425/r/pack3

We're running a classic rules race (lots of rules) and a Somervillain race (almost anything goes) as well a design-only option in case your car is more of a looker than a racer.

An optional infosession will be held this Saturday 4/4/2026 1pm - 3pm at Bow Market.

The Bow Market Pine-Car derby is a fundraiser supporting Somerville Pack 3 Cub Scouting activities and gear as well as registration fees and dues for kids and families who need financial support to participate.
