Sergeant Ahmed Mackey left us way too soon. Today, the whole family, blood and blue came out to honor you. Sergeant Mackey will be remembered as an incredible father, son, brother and coworker. He had the biggest heart to go along with a laugh and smile that you’ll never forget. You will be missed forever.

Sergeant Mackey was a 20 year veteran at the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. During his career he worked as a school resource officer, President of the Juvenile Justice Association, member of the Bias/Hate Crime Unit, Public Relations Unit, as well as a high school boys basketball coach and a man who always put others before himself.

Thank you to everyone who attended today and for your loving phone calls, text messages, emails and letters during this extremely difficult time.
