A collection of community groups, including the Union Square Neighborhood Council and Neighbors in Action, is excited to invite you to join us at a forum of all five candidates for the MA 2nd state senate seat, July 16th at Somerville High School starting at 7 pm.

This is our chance to hear directly from the candidates themselves about their platforms, their opinions on the issues, and their vision for our district. We’re soliciting questions from residents, community groups, and businesses in the Middlesex 2nd to ask the candidates. *To submit a question, and register for the event, either in person or virtually, check out the link in bio*

Join the MA 2nd Middlesex District Senate Candidate Forum to hear about how candidates for this open seat speak about their vision for the district, share their platforms and opinions on issues and respond to questions from residents, community groups and businesses in the district.

As 2025 closes out, there is no better way to wrap up the year than by celebrating community! Mark your calendar for December 18, 6pm-9pm, when Somerville CLT hosts our End of Year Celebration at Upstairs at Bow Market Union Square. This is more than a party, it’s a chance for the SCLT community to connect with each other and celebrate our victories.

We marched for affordable housing (or, honking 🎷) at the 20th Annual HONK! festival.

Many thanks to all of the volunteers, membership and their families, as well as the Cambridge CLT, for showing up to make some noise with us. It’s this energy and enthusiasm for our mission that drives our collective work!

BIG NEWS!

Somerville CLT is thrilled to announce that we've acquired, in partnership with Just A Start , 297 Medford St. in Gilman Sq!

This is MORE than just a building acquisition - this is community power and action! Thank you to everyone who helped make this project happen by supporting our zoning map amendment.

What's coming: A brand-new 100% affordable apartment building with ~50 homes for our neighbors.

What this means: Somerville residents will have stable, affordable housing that stays affordable FOREVER. No gentrification, no out of control rents, just community-controlled housing!

Want to learn more? Find us at Gilman Sq. Arts and Music Festival in 9/13, right where this project is happening! Well be there to celebrate this success, answer your questions and learn about your housing values and interests!
