Somerville Dog Festival Page The event was free to participants and was sponsored by more than a dozen local and national businesses and featured at least eight different dog sports.

The first annual Somerville Dog Festival was held on September 19, 2010 (the second Sunday after Labor Day) at Conway Park on Somerville Avenue and raised $11,000 for Northeast Animal Shelter.

After 14 years (give or take a pandemic), the volunteers of the Somerville Dog Festival are retiring the Festival to move on to other projects.

We can't express how meaningful it's been to see all of you, year after year, as we celebrate our dogs and our neighbors together.

Thank you for your giving spirits, which have funded pet food banks and free veterinary care for the pets of the homeless, the elderly, and at-risk veterans.

Thank you for playing with your dogs!

Most of all, thank you for being our community. ❤️

Thanks to all who came out to our return festival today! We had wonderful people and spectacular dogs and super-chic outfits on the latter, and yummy food providers, and terrific vendors.

Next year we’ll know how to handle the battery needs of the lure course that tried to break us this year , and the patience of all as we worked through the hiccups was so appreciated, and so lovely.
