To every survivor reading this: we see you, we believe you, and we're here.

In recent weeks, Somerset County has lost women to violence. And in the comments, we've watched something painfully familiar happen. Even when domestic violence was named as the cause, many people looked for any other explanation.

These aren't "just" comments. They reflect what survivors hear every day. Domestic violence crosses every line of race, income, and social status, but the benefit of the doubt isn't handed out equally. Bias shapes whose violence gets recognized, and that bias costs lives.

When you see violence in the headlines, let domestic violence be the first possibility, not the last.
Challenge the excuses. Believe survivors.

If you're living with abuse, or worried about someone who is, our 24/7 helpline is free and confidential.

Real self-care isn’t about escaping your life; it’s about becoming an expert on it. If you want to change your reality, you have to stop living on autopilot and start studying the data.
Here is how you turn self-care into self-education:

• Journaling: Don't just vent. Treat your pages like a crime scene and look for the recurring patterns, triggers, and motives.

• Dream Work: Stop ignoring your dreams. Your subconscious speaks in metaphors—decode the symbols to figure out what you're suppressing.

• Therapy: Get an objective third-party audit. You can't read the label when you're trapped inside the bottle.

• Books & Podcasts: Swap the brain-rotting doomscroll for expert content. Give yourself the language to understand your own psychology.

Stop guessing why you do what you do. Become a student of your own mind.
Which tool are you unlocking this week? Consider this your sign to start. Drop your choice in the comments! 👇
