Josefina Yepez Cancer Walkathon

The Annual JYC Walkathon is held every year to raise funds for cancer awareness in Yuma County.

Over 200 people supported with medical, transportation and other cancer treatment related needs.

This year's event welcomed many new faces, including Rose! Here are a few words she wanted to share:

“My name is Rose Vasquez this is my first time doing this walkathon and won't be my last! I lost my 27 year old son to cancer (leukemia). I unfortunately know all the struggles a family faces with having a loved one battling this. I was honored to do this walk and to help out even if it's a tiny grain. I pray that one day they will find a cure to this monster! Love to all the Warriors out there battling this illness.❤️”

Rose, thank you so much for joining us this year and for your support. We look forward to seeing you at our 20th annual next year!

WOW! What an absolutely incredible turnout for this year's event! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Yesterday's event was a fantastic success thanks to the incredible support from our community. Every participant, volunteer, donor, and supporter made a difference.

4 DAYS TO GO. 🎗

Pre-registrations are pouring in! To all the new participants, we are excited to have you join us, and we want to thank you for your generous support.

A few important details:

Start/Finish Location: San Luis Walk-In Clinic in Somerton.

Route Details: The route is the same one we've used for the past 10+ years! We will walk from the San Luis Walk-In Clinic to the Cocopah Casino and then loop back to the San Luis Walk-In Clinic.

Distance: The total length is approximately 6.5 miles (just slightly longer than a 10K).

What better way to walk off your Thanksgiving meal than by supporting the cancer warriors in our community? We can't wait to see you there!

Yuma County, can you believe it? We are officially in the single digits, with only 5 days remaining until the big event! Get ready to bring your energy!

We are thrilled to announce an exciting addition to the morning: the amazing instructors from ZTeam Zumba will be leading our official warm-up!

Get ready to move with these four energizing instructors:

• Graciela Alfaro: Bringing 9 years of incredible Zumba experience.
• Veronica Sanchez and Erica Garcia: Ready to rock with 3 years of high-energy instruction.
• Victoria Conde: Lighting up the floor with 1 year of vibrant teaching.

These four talented professionals will ensure we start the event energized and ready for success – a huge thank you to the incredible ladies of ZTeam Zumba for dedicating their time. We can't wait to get our Zumba on with you!

We know all too well that a cancer diagnosis brings an overwhelming wave of challenges and unfortunately, the financial stress can be one of the heaviest. Seeing our dear Josefina fight while we also struggled with these costs made one thing crystal clear: no one should have to choose between healing and paying the bills.

All funds raised go straight to cancer recipients and their families, letting them choose where they need help most. Our goal is simple, to ease some of that burden. We want the cancer warriors in this amazing community to focus on fighting, not on finance.
