YUMA, ARIZONA – September 23, 2025 – Something is happening in Yuma County. An event that began as a whisper in San Luis, Arizona, erupted this weekend in Yuma, causing two performances to sell out completely and leaving over 300 people transformed since its debut. The audience walks in expecting a show and walks out with tears, laughter, and an unexpected connection.
The origin of this phenomenon is the theater play "Los de aquí, los de allá y NOSOTROS" (Those from Here, Those from There, and US), a "cinematic musical theater" written and directed by Pedro Osuna that dares to touch the deepest chords of the human experience. But the real mystery doesn't end when the curtain falls. The energy created in that room has materialized, turning applause into real, tangible aid.
As an echo of the emotion felt, a donation of $1,313.00 was made to the Get Active group of the Comité de Bienestar, represented by Martina Lopez, to continue the cycle of support. Furthermore, the enigma of its impact crossed the border: in a quiet partnership with the Yuma Times, 10 laptops were delivered to low-income students in Mexicali. The delivery was attended by Louis Galaviz, President-Elect of the Somerton Rotary Club, and was received by Arturo Carranza, former President of the Mexicali Oeste Rotary Club—an act that unites "those from here" with "those from there," and US, and now you, the reader of this note.
"Seeing the audience laugh and cry with us was the greatest reward," whispers Mario Hernandez, the actor and producer of this experience, revealing a clue to the secret behind its success.
This movement would not be possible without the team operating behind the scenes, led by producer Mario Hernandez (Yuma Times), host Marcia Hernandez (Brush It Art Studio), and a cast of volunteers whose talent is the true heart of the project: Klaudia Mont, Joaquin Encinas, Carolina Torres, Ericka Varela, Blanca Alvarado, Christian Sandoval, Laura Barajas, Hector Romero, and Julio Castillo
