They called him Al-Amin — the Trustworthy.

Even his opponents knew Muhammad ﷺ as truthful and trustworthy. His character has been likened to “a beacon-light illumining a pitch-dark night.” Real goodness commands respect even in a hostile setting.

Faith on the edge isn't faith.

Among the people is one who worships Allah on edge (about to give up faith). If good (things) happen to him, he is satisfied with it, but if a trial afflicts him, he turns back (to disbelief), losing both this world and the Hereafter. That is the obvious (and ultimate) loss.
— Qur'an 22:11 · Al-Hajj

The castle “barbican” is an Arabic idea.

A barbican is a walled passage in front of a castle gate that traps attackers under fire from above. The word comes from Arabic bab al-baqarah — “gate with holes” — after fortresses like Tunisia's 9th-century Susa Ribat. London had one by 1130.
