This Mother’s Day, our Isha Cares volunteers came together to prepare meals, share smiles, and support the incredible Oasis community. Oasis continues to empower women, children, and families through education, support services, and opportunities that strengthen the community.

From the kitchen to the classroom, every moment reminded us that small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and compassion to make this day meaningful. 🤝✨

💛 Remembering Isha on What Would Have Been Her 19th Birthday 💛

Today, our hearts hold both love and longing. Isha would have turned 19 today. ✨

Though she left us at 15, her voice still speaks to us - clear, wise, and full of light. Rewatching her “Word of Wisdom” video from 2021, when she was just 13, reminds us that her spirit was always older than her years. 💭

“Isha’s wisdom still guides us, her laughter still warms us, and her love still leads us.” 💛

We miss you every day, Isha. But today, we celebrate the gift of your voice, your heart, and the light you continue to shine on all of us.

🌼 Easter Love for Our Little Fighters 🌼

This Easter, Isha Cares had the honor of sending a little comfort, color, and joy to the incredibly brave children receiving treatment at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital.

Behind every hospital room is a child showing unimaginable strength - facing long days, difficult treatments, and moments no child should have to endure. Through these small gifts, we hope to wrap them in warmth, spark moments of play, and remind them that they are not alone.

From soft blankets for quiet rest, to art kits and toys that bring smiles and distraction, each item was chosen with love - supporting the amazing Child Life team who work every day to bring comfort and normalcy into these young lives.

Because even in the hardest journeys, every child deserves moments of joy, creativity, and care.

Join us for a morning of service as we volunteer at Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children in Paterson.

📅 Saturday, May 9
⏰ 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Our volunteers will be helping with meal preparation and serving lunch for members of the community.

For over 25 years, Oasis has been supporting low-income women and children living in or near Paterson, helping them meet their most basic needs while working toward a brighter and more stable future.

This is a meaningful way to give back, work together, and serve with compassion.

Three years since Isha left us.
Three years of learning how to breathe through grief.
Three years of building love into action through Isha Cares.

Three years later, one truth stands stronger than ever:

Taking care of your emotions is not weakness.
Acknowledging struggles is not failure.
Resting after setbacks is not quitting.

On the Isha Cares blog this week, we’re sharing an article on self-love and self-care - especially for those walking through challenges, caregiving, illness, or quiet battles no one sees.

We continue to be inspired by pediatric cancer warriors like Anna and Jerrica - who fall, rise, fight, recover, and rise again. Their resilience teaches us something powerful:

Strength is not about never breaking.
It’s about getting back up.

If children facing unimaginable treatments can keep finding courage, we can learn to give ourselves permission to feel, to heal, and to try again.

Be kind to your emotions.
Be patient with your progress.
Failures are chapters - not conclusions.

“Jerrica” is a breast cancer survivor. She’s in remission - but survivorship hasn’t been simple.
Ongoing treatment has left her battling deep, daily fatigue. Some mornings, even getting out of bed feels overwhelming. She works when she’s able, but the physical toll is real - and so are the bills.
Rent. Car insurance. Groceries. An aging car barely holding on.

Recently, she faced another unexpected medical setback - a reminder that cancer’s impact doesn’t always end when treatment does.
And yet, she keeps moving forward. She’s pursuing new training opportunities and rebuilding her life step by step. That’s resilience.

Isha Cares primarily supports children and families impacted by cancer. In Jerrica’s case, we made a compassionate exception to support an adult survivor facing extraordinary hardship.
We were able to cover essential expenses to give her breathing room - but her journey isn’t over.
