Now Hiring: Part-Time Studio Assistant & Photography Assistant
Location: Meredith Frye Photography Studio – Somerset, Kentucky
Meredith Frye Photography is looking for a dependable, creative, and people-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Studio Assistant & Photography Assistant.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys photography, loves working with people, and wants to gain hands-on experience in both photography and running a creative business. You’ll play an important role in creating an exceptional client experience while learning alongside an established photographer.
Responsibilities
Photography
● Support the photographer during portrait sessions and special events
● Help create a fun, relaxed, and positive experience for clients
● Carry and organize camera equipment and lighting
● Assist with posing and client interaction
● Capture behind-the-scenes photos and videos
● Opportunity to photograph select sessions independently as your skills develop
Studio
● Prepare the studio before sessions
● Organize props, equipment, and supplies
● Help maintain a clean, welcoming studio space
● Assist with packing and preparing gear for location sessions
● Help organize client galleries and prepare print and product orders
Social Media
● Capture behind-the-scenes content during sessions
● Assist with creating Reels and short-form video content
Qualifications

● Creative and enjoys working as part of a team
● Isn’t afraid of feedback and consistently pushes themselves to learn & improve
Preferred Qualifications
● Some photography experience or familiarity with DSLR or mirrorless cameras
● Basic knowledge of social media and creating short-form video content
Schedule
● Approximately 10–15 hours per week, with additional hours during busy seasons (Could vary a lot)
● Must be available to work in the studio at least one to two weekdays each week for a few hours to assist with studio organization, preparation, and administrative tasks
● Evenings and weekends are required for all sessions, weddings, and special events
90-Day Probationary Period
This position includes a 90-day probationary period to ensure it’s a great fit for both Meredith Frye Photography and the new team member.
