For my personal, professional, and volunteer colleagues and Syracuse Challenger Baseball & FACEBOOK friends: I am grateful and humbled to share that after 39 1/4 years of service to the public and community as an attorney, advocate, and counselor at law - 32 3/4 years in private practice (20 1/4 years as a partner in my firm with my brother Stefano Cambareri and colleagues Scott Koldin and Scott Brenneck) and the last 6 1/2 years as a Principal Counsel for the NYS Appellate Division, Fourth Department Fifth Judicial District Attorney Grievance Committee, I am officially RETIRED effective 2/26/26!! I started working at 6 years old delivering newspapers with d my brother and mentor Joseph Cambareri MD, and continued to work for the last 59 years until this glorious day!!
I am excited about the present and the future and plan on utilizing my continuous unbridled enthusiasm and energy to: 1) experience life’s majesty with my amazing wife, sons, and family; 2) dive even deeper into my quest to be a true Catholic Christian gentleman; 3) continue my special divine vocational call to “make a difference” for special needs children and their families as a volunteer “leader by service” in my 23rd year as Executive Director of Syracuse Challenger Baseball, 23rd year as VP of Advocates Incorporated, 3rd year serving the Board of Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame, 15th year as a Board member and tri-spokeCarrier Park Carrier Park fundraising nonprofit FRIENDS OF DEWITT PARKS & REC INC!!!
Perhaps my most anticipated and exciting event on the horizon started as a divinely inspired “dream” of mine 20 years ago when I stepped forth on a quest to find land and a community partnership to build an all-accessible, fully inclusive multifield complex to serve athletes of “all differing abilities” and as the “Home of Syracuse Challenger Baseball.” On Saturday, May 16, 2026, I will join my incredible Challenger Baseball Colleagues and superstars Dee Perkins and Jennifer Savastino Kinane, and Dennis Cleary and the Friends of Dewitt Board Members, Ed Michalenko and the Dewitt Town Board, and hundreds of Challenger Baseball volunteers, coaches, parents, sponsors, super donors, friends, and community members with the Grand Opening of the $16M, Phase 3 Carrier Park “Superfield of Dreams”, Robert Morris Family Challenger Field and Technology Pavilion tower!!!!!! I look forward to celebrating with many of you there — more exciting updates on the Superfield of Dreams event to come!
Lastly, I have attached two amazing photos, taken by the super sportscaster Niko Tamurian of me presenting my first “rally the community” presentation of the proposed Carrier Park “Challenger” Field of Dreams on October 17, 2012!! Because of the efforts made by so many talented and passionate individuals, families, and community supporters and public servants, together we have finally achieved the dream!!!
