Get to know our Foundation board members!
Introducing our board president, Karen Steinwachs, the woman behind Seagrape Wine Company. She wears many hats in our community and is always seen showing up for her colleagues at events, tastings and fundraisers, and always with a smile and a great bottle to share.
From Karen on her wine journey in Santa Barbara County: “Unbelievably, my 24th year of making wine – and I was supposed to go back to the high-tech world after harvest 2001! Since then, I’ve fallen in (sometimes literally) to winemaking, the wine community, our agricultural bounty and particulary the people here. Kind hearted, hard working, honest. And if anyone can give back, they do. Whether it’s with helping out during harvest, providing time and wine to a benefit, quietly donating to charities or food banks or serving on a board or commission to help others in need. That’s what we do here. And to me, it’s a gift to ME to give a bit of joy to someone else.”
