New Frontiers Natural Market is supporting the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation through their 5% Friday program. On Friday, October 16, 5% of the day’s sales will be donated to SBVF in support of Holiday Hope. 💚🍇

Stock up on organic groceries, grab something from the deli or pick up your weekend favorites, all while helping provide warm coats, hats, socks, backpacks and other essentials to vineyard workers and their families this holiday season.

A day rooted in health, family and community. 💚🌱
This summer, we were proud to host our 4th Annual Vineyard Health & Resource Fair in partnership with the incredible team at Community Health Centers of the Central Coast in Lompoc.

Vineyard families came together to access health screenings, connect with local resources and gather information to support their health and well-being. And, of course, there was plenty of fun for the whole family, including mariachi music, tacos from Tacos “ El Bachas” a bounce house, face painting, raffles and giveaways.

Families also received school-ready essentials including backpacks, bandanas, water bottles and more to help kick off the new school year.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this day possible and, most of all, to the vineyard families who joined us. Supporting the people and families who make our w**egrowing community so special is at the heart of what we do.

📚🍇 With school back in session, we’re proud to celebrate the 2026 recipients of the VIÑADOR Scholarship and the exciting educational journeys ahead!

Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation recently partnered with Gleason Family Vineyards, including Roblar and Refugio Ranch W**eries, to provide scholarships to members of our local w**egrowing community pursuing higher education. Employees of Santa Barbara County vineyards, w**eries and vineyard management companies, as well as their family members, were invited to apply.

Two recipients were selected, each receiving a $5,000 scholarship toward their college education.

Karen Chavez Garcia, daughter of Sofia, who, along with Jorge, runs the farming operations at Roblar Farm, is attending UC Merced this fall.

Dulce Barbosa, daughter of Carlos, vineyard foreman at Refugio Ranch, is attending Allan Hancock College this fall.

As Karen and Dulce begin this new chapter, we’re honored to invest in the next generation of our w**egrowing community and celebrate the families who help make Santa Barbara County w**e country what it is.

Your contributions make for brighter smiles!

This week we partnered with to bring free dental exams, cleanings and resources directly to our vineyard workers during their workday. First stop was where the CHCCC team worked amongst the poppies, bees and birdsong. It was a beautiful day in the valley!

A huge thank you to the CHCCC dental team and to their coordinator, Jose Guzman!

Get to know our Foundation board members!

Introducing our board president, Karen Steinwachs, the woman behind Seagrape W**e Company. She wears many hats in our community and is always seen showing up for her colleagues at events, tastings and fundraisers, and always with a smile and a great bottle to share.

From Karen on her w**e journey in Santa Barbara County: “Unbelievably, my 24th year of making w**e – and I was supposed to go back to the high-tech world after harvest 2001! Since then, I’ve fallen in (sometimes literally) to w**emaking, the w**e community, our agricultural bounty and particulary the people here. Kind hearted, hard working, honest. And if anyone can give back, they do. Whether it’s with helping out during harvest, providing time and w**e to a benefit, quietly donating to charities or food banks or serving on a board or commission to help others in need. That’s what we do here. And to me, it’s a gift to ME to give a bit of joy to someone else.”
