We strive to provide the best care possible and to ensure a calming environment at all times. They need to build their trust in people. By having limited visiting hours, we hope to speed up the adjustment process.The majority of our pig residents have been rescued from extreme situations and have never had a home to call their own. Many are adults were never socialized or given the chance to live

outside a cage. We offer open land to wander and let the pigs choose their own shelter and who they want to share it with or not. Rescues get to live their lives as pigs were meant to do. We also participate in several educational outreach programs and school visits. We provide factual and up-to-date information for current or prospective pig owners including home inspections and arrange adoptions. We rehabilitate "problem" pigs while providing assistance to shelters and general rescue assistance for animals that are being neglected or abused. Networking closely with other partner rescue groups.

It's been quiet for a while on our page. I'm (Janet Shinn) and my hands have been full. This is my sweetheart, Tiny 🩷 I haven't lost a pig family member at my house for 10yrs. This beautiful baby, actual age unknown. We're guessing around 15-17 years old. I adopted her from LOH shortly after the Bakersfield 52 Hoarding case in 2016. She was pretty old when she came to LOH. I didn't care!!! I knew that I had a place she could call her forever home. In addition to that, I could give her the one on one attention that my life could offer in a forever home 🩷 Tiny was always the head of the heard with her newly found siblings. We spent almost a decade together and it was the best time ever. Tiny Tune, you were loved and spoiled rotten 💯 I was blessed to have you in my life. Fly High sweet girl. I promised you that I would be with you from the beginning to the end. I kept my promise. Be pain-free. We'll see each other again. Mom 🙏

Lift each other up!!! We all share the same goals, to help save pigs ❤️ I (J.S.) have been quiet in the Group Chat. We've been focusing on our local community requests for a while. Sending love and prayers to the larger rescues who are doing a great job posting and placing. Sending the same wishes to the smaller rescues, like us who are still making a difference. 10 years ago, Bakersfield herd hoarding case, transported to LOH>3 lil babies waiting for babies. 3 safe and settled.
Tomorrow the first half will arrive here and the last group will arrive Tuesday.
I have to give a huge shout out to the Bakersfield animal control who worked with me and are going above and beyond in arranging the transport of all these pigs.
I also want to thank everyone who has helped support this massive rescue.
For many your work is done, for myself it is just beginning and will be my responsibility for the life span of every pig in my care. I truly hopen to find homes where these pigs can live their lives out being loved and where they feel safe. I can not do this alone and I have never needed as much help and support as I will now. But the one thing that makes my heart the happiest is knowing the pigs will never again be abandoned, scared l, hungry or homeless.

Thursday I went to LOH to work on the fun paperwork side of rescue. I like to do any paperwork as long as my music is playing 🎸🩷 Suey made us a wonderful lunch/dinner of her excellent Huveos Rancheros. It's amazing just how much work we can accomplish when Sue feeds me 🤣
Plus with my full set of braces finally put in, it's one of few things that I can eat🙄 Janet Shinn 🐷

Wishing my Bestie a Happy Mother's Day from all her Hammies 🐷 Sue Parkinson your count of all the pigs you have helped and rescued are Endless 💯 Thank you for all that you've accomplished since 1992. I couldn't be any Prouder to work beside you. Our pigs are our family.
