Locking Shields. That is what we do in the Veterans community. Working together to achieve one goal. Help our veterans, their families and friends through the hard, dark times.
My wife and I went to the Lake of the Ozarks to work with Romans Warrior Foundation, GWOT Wall of Remembrance and LakeSide Warriors, the LOZ areas veteran organization.
Together, we were able to start the healing process for some of our GWOT veterans.
As non-profit, veterans organizations, we must work together, not compete against each other to achieve our common goal.
What is our goal you ask? Bottom line, save lives.
We don't mean just the lives of our veterans, but also their families and friends. Imagine the devastation a spouse must go through when they have to tell their children, your dad or mom won't be coming home, ever.
As Brian Romans said, "I'd rather have a conversation with you at 2:00 am, than hear about you from someone else. "
To accomplish this goal it takes money. We don't receive any money from the government we do it with donations. I was shocked, humbled, and slightly embarrassed, this weekend when Brian and Shannon Romans, Romans Warrior Foundation pulled us up on stage and presented a large check to IVOE to continue our mission.
THIS IS LOCKING SHIELDS FOR A COMMON GOAL.
Thank you Romans Warrior Foundation and your family, words can not say enough for what you do and sacrifice, to continue YOUR mission with the GWOT Wall of Remembrance. IVOE will always be here for you!
