We are pleased to announce that we now have 22 budding young artists, ages 6 through 18, exhibiting 34 pieces of their art work at our first annual Student Art Exhibition this coming weekend at the Gordon Town Hall! This includes students from several school districts including Solon Springs and Northwood. Their art is impressive - ranging from painting, photography, pastels, collages and more! Please stop in to encourage and support these young artists as they follow their dreams, recognizing the importance of art in their lives. See details below. BEGINNING WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASS- JUNE 20TH, 1-5 PM AT SOLON SPRINGS TOWN HALL

You are invited to sign up to learn the basics of watercolor painting. This class is designed to give students a firm foundation on which to build a lifelong enjoyment of capturing the beauty of nature around them through their art.

Tuition is $60. Materials will be provided, although students are encouraged to bring along any additional watercolor tools they may have. Light refreshments will also be provided.

This class will be taught by retired Art Educator Colleen O'Leary Nelson, creator of the images in this post. To reserve a spot in this class, or for more information, contact Colleen at [email protected].

Many thanks to all who turned out on April 19th for our 1st Annual Food For The Body & Art For The Soul fundraiser event at Balanced Wellness. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $1,326 for the Gordon Area Food Shelf!

Participants selected their favorite works of art (101 pieces created and donated by local artists), made donations and took their pieces home with them. We also greatly appreciate our talented artists who donated their art for this event. We are planning to make this an annual event with the next one scheduled in June 2027.

Mark your calendars for next SUNDAY, APRIL 19TH, 1-4 PM! Our FOOD FOR THE BODY AND ART FOR THE SOUL event will be held at Balanced Wellness, 9833 E. Jackson Drive in Solon Springs. This is a fundraiser for the Gordon Food Shelf serving southern Douglas County - and a great opportunity for you to acquire some awesome artwork by local artists by making a donation. A fundraiser for the Gordon Area food Shelf, serving Southern Douglas County, this event is co-sponsored by RAVN (Rural Arts Voice North) and Balanced Wellness. Just a friendly reminder that our FOOD FOR THE BODY AND ART FOR THE SOUL event is coming up soon! This is a fundraiser for the Gordon Area Food Shelf serving Southern Douglas County - and an opportunity to obtain some great art work by local artists at very reasonable prices. We are excited to announce our 2026 Student Art Exhibition which will take place May 15th-17th at the Gordon Town Hall. This is an opportunity for students under 18 to exhibit their art work. A panel of Jurors will select the best pieces to be included in RAVN's Annual Art Exhibition August 14th-16th at the Gordon Town Hall.

Students who are interested in submitting their art work are encouraged to contact RAVN at [email protected] as soon as possible. All submission forms must be completed and submitted by May 10th.

The public is invited to come out and support our young artists.

YOU are invited to our inaugural "Food For The Body and Art For the Soul" event on April 19th. Co-sponsored by RAVN Arts (Rural Arts Voice Arts North) and Balanced Wellness, this is a fundraiser for the Gordon Area Food Shelf which serves all of southern Douglas County. It will be held at Balanced Wellness, 9833 E. Jackson Drive in Solon Springs.

Over 80 pieces of original art by local artists will be available. You simply make a donation for the pieces you select and take them home with you. Low minimum donation amounts of $10-$20 will be set. This is a great opportunity to obtain artwork at reasonable prices while supporting your local Food Shelf. Refreshments and beverages will be provided.
