Thank You President Biden!

Big news for our oceans and our planet: On Jan. 6, 2025, President Biden invoked Section 12(a) of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to permanently ban future offshore natural gas drilling across 625 million acres of U.S. waters. 🌊

This historic decision protects the East and West Coasts, the North Bering Sea in Alaska, and the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Unlike most executive actions, this one has no expiration—Congress would need to rewrite the law to undo it.

A new, transparent window coating is estimated to reduce cooling costs by 31%. A professor from University of Notre Dame, Tengfei Luo, and his colleagues set out to design a “transparent radiative cooler” (TRC) that would let light enter buildings but block heat coming inside. Read more here.
