ALERT: SCHOOL CLOSURE

Due to rain and freezing conditions, ALL Kenai Peninsula Borough School District (KPBSD) schools will be closed, Friday, January 16, 2026.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. District leadership will continue to monitor weather and road conditions and remains in close communication with site-based administrators, DOT, the Borough, and First Student.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership in keeping our school community safe.

💙 Safety First for Our BGCKP Families 💙

With the announcement that all schools will be closed tomorrow, the Boys & Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula is putting safety first for our members, our childcare kiddos, and our incredible staff. All Club locations and the Childcare Center will be closed tomorrow.

We know schedule changes can be challenging, and we truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Thank you for always supporting our commitment to keeping everyone safe. Please take care and travel safely if you need to be out!

We express our heartfelt sympathy to all the families and children impacted by the recent decision by Boys & Girls Club South Central Alaska to permanently close their childcare centers and after school programs.
We want to clarify that Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula is a separate entity and remains committed to serving our community. Our doors are still open, and we are dedicated to providing support and programs for our families. We are deeply grateful for the continued support from our community, which enables us to keep our programs running.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska and its licensed childcare operations are ending all programs and services, according to a memo sent to staff obtained by Alaska’s News Source.

Sorry if your kiddo came home looking like a Smurf today 🤪 our Otters class and Shooting Stars class were exploring the different zones of the ocean for our aquatic biome day during “Into The Wild” week!
Just look at those DIY Kinetic Sand sculptures the Red Bull Specials class created💙 and it wouldn’t be Wednesday without the Torch Club’s Lemonade Stand 🍋 So grateful for these warm summer day!
