Jim Baross just turned 80, so he rode 84 miles! Many know Jim but those who don't should know that Jim is the premiere maven for bicycle advocacy and education in San Diego County, all of CA, indeed for the USA as a recent Board Member of the League of American Bicyclists (LAB). He is currently the President of CABO (California Association of Bicycle Organizations). Jim has coached hundreds of cyclists including CHP and local law enforcement to become certified League (LAB) Cycling Instructors. He has made and continues to make cycling better for all cyclists everywhere. Jim's mantra: "Better cyclists makes cycling better!"

Yes, it is hard at times to judge the distance and speed of a rider. Yes, we all need to be more patient with other road users as well. Yes, we need to take a breath and look out for each other, especially vulnerable road users like bikes and pedestrians.
Yes, drivers need to transition into the dashed bike lane when it is safe to do so before making their right turn.

John contacted the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC) about his need for a bike. John has a heart condition and is living on the streets of downtown San Diego. He used the downtown library to send his email request. SDCBC contacted ReBikeSD to see if we could help. We were able to communicate with John and deliver a sturdy 3-speed beach cruiser to John this afternoon. We hope the bike helps John get back on his feet.

ReBikeSD provides a safe space to rescue, repair and distribute bicycles while creating community through education and advocacy.
