„Sail (SALE) Around the Point“
Sodus Point has its annual “Sale Around the Point” this upcoming Saturday, June 6th. Come say hello! We will be at camp together with the Sodus Bay Yacht Club. There will be snacks for sale along with various items from our building that need a new home.

MEET THE STAFF ⛵️

Next up, let’s give a warm welcome to a new addition to our staff, Alex! While this is Alex’s first year as an instructor, he is certainly no stranger to SBJSA. He has been attending SBJSA since he was only seven years old. For Alex, the best part of camp is the combination of the sailing, the people, and the overall atmosphere. When he isn’t teaching, Alex stays active with skiing, soccer, and sailing, and he even plays the trumpet! A fun fact about Alex is his long history with the program, having grown up right here on the bay. His favorite place in Sodus is simply being out on the water, and he thinks the ultimate summer anthem for the playlist is "Walking On A Dream" by Empire of the Sun. We are so excited to have Alex transition from CIT to a member of our instructor team this summer!

MEET THE STAFF ⛵️

Please welcome another one of our talented staff members this summer, Kaden! Kaden is returning for his second year as an instructor, bringing back the great energy he's known for! His favorite thing about camp is the strong sense of community that brings everyone together on the water. When he isn’t instructing, you can find Kaden playing baseball, snowboarding, or out fishing. A very cool fun fact about Kaden is that he can play the harmonica! His favorite spot in Sodus is Leroy Island, and he says the one song that absolutely must be on the summer playlist is "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett. We are so happy to have Kaden’s skills and great attitude back with us for his second season!

Welcome one of our incredible staff members, Gianna! This summer marks Gianna’s second year as an instructor and she is such a bright light at our camp. Her favorite part of SBJSA is watching the kids not only grow in their skills but truly fall in love with the sport of sailing. When she’s not at SBJSA, Gianna stays busy with dance, kickline, and her passion for fashion. A fun fact about Gianna is that while she’s originally from Long Island, she has spent every single summer of her life living right here on the bay! Her favorite spot in Sodus is the Chimney Bluffs, and she thinks the summer playlist wouldn’t be complete without "Tongue Tied" by GROUPLOVE. We are so lucky to have Gianna’s talent and dedication back with the team this season!

Say hello to one of our awesome staff members this summer, Adam! Adam has been a part of our SBJSA team for several seasons and we are stoked to have him returning for his third year as an instructor. His favorite thing about SBJSA is the inclusive environment. Specifically how anyone can come to camp, have an amazing time, and feel welcome! When he’s not instructing out on the Bay, Adam enjoys skiing, golf, or just hanging out with his friends. An interesting fun fact about Adam is that he’s actually colorblind! While he's bummed his favorite taco spot at Leone Landing is closed, you can still find him hanging out by the water enjoying the Sodus summer. Adam also thinks “World Hold On” by Bob Sinclair is a must play summer song. We’re so happy to have Adam’s experience and energy back with us for another great season!

Meet another one of our dedicated staff members this summer, Heather! Heather has been a familiar face at SBJSA for a long time, and we are so happy to have her back for her third year as an instructor on our team. Heather’s absolute favorite thing about SBJSA is all the wonderful people who make up our camp community. When she’s not out on the water, Heather loves hammocking, swimming, and going on new adventures. A fun fact about Heather is that she has been part of the sailing scene for nearly her whole life (the first time she attended a Regatta at SBJSA, she was only six months old!). Her favorite spot in Sodus is Charles Point, which she claims is the best island ever. Heather also believes that "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" by Train is a must play for this summer. We are so lucky to have Heather's lifelong passion for sailing back at camp this season!

Welcome one of our amazing instructors this summer, Caleb! Caleb has been a familiar face at SBJSA for years, from camper all the way to joining our staff team in 2024. He’s now entering his third season on staff and has become an invaluable part of our instructor crew. When he’s not coaching on the water, Caleb loves to stay active snowboarding, fishing, and surfing. His favorite thing about SBJSA is the lifelong friends he has made throughout his time here. A fun fact about Caleb is that his favorite color is yellow! His favorite place in Sodus is simply the entire bay and the lake, and the one song he thinks is a must have for the summer playlist is "Rock the Boat" by The Hues Corporation. We are so glad to have Caleb’s energy back on the waterfront this summer!

Meet one of our wonderful staff members this summer, Ava! Ava officially joined the SBJSA staff in 2024 and is now entering her third season as a dedicated instructor on our team. Ava’s favorite part of SBJSA is the lifelong memories and the incredible best friends she makes at camp every year. When she isn’t at SBJSA, Ava enjoys playing lacrosse, doing pilates, and heading to the beach. A fun fact about her is that she actually lives in Florida! Her favorite spot in Sodus is Leroy Island, and the one song she thinks is a total must have for the summer playlist is "Springsteen" by Eric Church. We are so thrilled to have Ava back on the instructor team this season!

Say hello to one of our awesome staff members this summer, Emmett! Emmett has been on the SBJSA staff since 2024 and is now entering his third season as an instructor on our team! Emmett's favorite part of SBJSA is the ability to work on the water with his best friends and be able to make a change in so many kids' lives. When he isn’t at SBJSA, Emmett enjoys playing lacrosse, golf, and snowmobiling. A fun fact about him is that his favorite hobby is foursquare! His favorite spot in Sodus is the chimney bluffs, and the one song he thinks is a must play this summer is “Music Sounds Better with You” by Stardust. We are so happy to have Emmett back at SBJSA for another summer!
