Summer calendars fill up FAST ☀️🍉🏖️ - vacations, BBQs, lake days, concerts, camps… we get it! But if you’re looking for a meaningful (and FUN!) way to spend time together this summer, our Make-A-Meal Program is the perfect opportunity 💛

June through August tends to be our lowest time for volunteer sign-ups, but our families are still here every day and continue to rely on the comfort of a warm, home-cooked meal ❤️

We are currently in need of volunteer groups to come prepare meals for the families staying at the House. Whether it’s coworkers, friends, family, teammates, or neighbors - there’s something really special about bonding over cooking together while giving back to families going through difficult times.

And yes… we have grills available too 👀🔥 Burgers, hot dogs, kebabs, BBQ chicken - summer cookout vibes are highly encouraged!

The best part? You bring the ingredients, the laughter, and the teamwork - we’ll take care of the rest 🥘✨

We are excited to announce our 2026 co-captain - QUINN 🩷 Thank you to the Friend-Vienna family for sharing your story and helping to bring awareness to Golisano Children's Hospital! Below is the story of Quinn's journey ❤️‍🩹

Quinn’s story began at our 20-week anatomy scan, when we learned she would be born with a heart defect. From that moment on, the second half of our pregnancy became a rollercoaster filled with weekly echocardiograms, countless doctor appointments and ongoing conversations with cardiology, the NICU and our care team at Golisano Children's Hospital.

After Quinn was born she underwent her first catheter-based procedure at just one day old, followed by another at three months. At six months old, she had open-heart surgery. Quinn underwent the Ross Procedure, a complex surgery that uses her own pulmonary valve to replace her failing aortic valve. This surgery allows her heart to grow with her.

Throughout it all, the care we received at Golisano Children’s Hospital was nothing short of extraordinary. From the surgeons and doctors to the nurses, social workers and even the security guards that welcomed us every day, every single person made us feel supported and never alone during the most stressful time of our lives. Because of that experience, we share Quinn’s story as often and as loudly as we can. Living in Victor, we are so unbelievably grateful to have a world class facility so close to home.

Today, Quinn is a thriving 3-year-old. She visits her cardiologist every six months, with more care ahead in the future. She’s busy being a kid. She’s running, jumping, doing gymnastics and proudly taking on her role as the best big sister to her brother, Cade.

Thank you to our incredible patient artists for sharing their creativity, and to Taylor and Alexi of Tailgate Trends, who worked tirelessly and with so much heart to bring this project to life in support of our kiddos.
