✨ What an inspiring evening at the Professional Nurses Association of WNY Annual Awards Banquet enjoyed on June 2nd! ✨

We were honored to celebrate outstanding nursing students and nurses whose dedication continues to make a difference across our community. The theme, The Power of Nurses, was reflected in the incredible stories, achievements, and impact shared throughout the night.

Congratulations to all award recipients and to Olivia's Bears, recipient of the Annual Board Award, for their unwavering support of Western New York's pediatric community. 💙

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters for helping make this special event possible. We look forward to celebrating with everyone again on June 8, 2027!

The Professional Nurse’s Association of Western New York has had an inspiring season centered on education, wellness, leadership, creativity, and community connection.

Throughout the year, thus far, we’ve created opportunities for nurses and healthcare professionals to come together not only to learn, but also to recharge, network, and support one another in meaningful ways.

Our events included:

• Vinyasa Yoga at Rebel Ride — promoting mindfulness, balance, and self-care for healthcare professionals

• Addressing the Mental Health Challenges of Children and Teens presented by Michael A. Scharf — bringing awareness to critical mental health concerns impacting today’s youth

• Intro to Improv Workshop partnered with Buffalo Improv — encouraging communication, confidence, teamwork, and laughter

• Our annual Research & Scholarly Activities Conference — celebrating evidence-based practice, innovation, scholarship, and nursing excellence across Western New York

• Our spring gardening and mental wellness event at Lavocat’s Family Greenhouse & Nursery — highlighting the importance of stress reduction and wellness through connection with nature

Each event reflected our continued commitment to supporting nurses both professionally and personally. Nursing is more than a profession — it is a community, and strong communities are built through education, advocacy, wellness, collaboration, and meaningful human connection.

Thank you to all of our presenters, sponsors, members, volunteers, and attendees who continue to support our mission and help make these experiences impactful and memorable. Your passion, engagement, and dedication continue to strengthen the nursing profession throughout Western New York.

We are excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to grow together as leaders, advocates, educators, and healthcare professionals.

Hope to see you at your future events - MORE TO COME!!!!

The Professional Nurses Association of WNY partnered with Improv for an Intro to Improv Workshop. The lively group of nurses learned basics of improv with instructor Todd, and began a discussion of how to apply these to their roles in the healthcare setting. Thank you to the team at Buffalo Improv for a memorable experience and the family of Arthur Hart for contributing to this event! If you missed this event, but would like to see it again, comment "Yes... and..." below!

During National Nurses Week, take a moment to acknowledge this truth:
Nursing isn’t just tasks and checklists. It’s presence. It’s catching the subtle change before it becomes a crisis. It’s explaining, reassuring, protecting, and sometimes standing as the only voice a patient has. This profession asks for clinical skill, emotional control, critical thinking, and compassion, often all at once, often without pause.
What you do matters!!!!! The care you give reaches farther than you see. The standards you hold shape the future of healthcare.
Keep your edge. Keep your compassion and don’t lose your voice in the system, as you’re one of the people who make it better.
