CAWV is supported by grants, endowments, fund raising activities, and private donations. The expense of our program activities is considerable, constantly growing, and a daunting challenge that we must consistently rise to. Our commitment to offer our services at reasonable rates to families who face their own challenges each day is unwavering and will always be the cornerstone of what we do and who we are.

Challenged Athletes of West Virginia is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in the state of West Virginia (EIN 55-0692020) and chapter of Move United with a group tax exempt ruling #2599.

Friday’s Battle of the Beats lets you tip your fave DJ while raising cash for Challenged Athletes of West Virginia.

Saturday’s Pond Skim hosted by Wave Riding Vehicles VB (WRV) is all about sending it in style. Toss on a costume, ride the wave (or take the plunge), then keep the party rolling with an Après Ski Sundown Set in The Village—let’s get after it! 🌊🤙

Don't miss your chance to meet professional skier Jamie MoCrazy at Alive to Thrive Day happening February 27-28, 2025 at Canaan Valley Resort!

Jamie is a world-class skier who acquired a serious traumatic brain injury (TBI) after an accident. An award-winning documentary called was made about Jamie's incredible recovery journey and return to the slopes.

Alive to Thrive Day features adaptive ski opportunities for West Virginians with a TBI, a screening of , a keynote from Jamie MoCrazy, a panel discussion about TBI recovery, a Q&A session, social meet and greet and more.

This event is free for West Virginians with a TBI, their families and caregivers. There is also general admission for the public, as well as an opportunity for professionals to receive CEUs for PT/PTA, OT and Social Work for attending the film screening and panel portions of the event.

Some of the CAWV team traveled to Breckenridge Colorado for the Hartford Ski Spectacular a couple weeks ago!! With our team we were able to have some wonderful lessons, improve our teaching knowledge and promote the CIMGO with Tessier!! We are so excited for this event again next year!

Orientation Training Tomorrow Saturday Dec. 14th for new volunteers and people just wanting a basic re-up!!

If you plan to come the schedule will be as follows-
8:30-9:00 Paperwork at Adaptive Center at Silver Creek
9:00-12:00 Inside training on all things adaptive in the center
12:00 Lunch
1:00-4:00 On snow training at snowshoe!
