Progress on two fronts: Colorado's Wildlife Collision Prevention Act advances, and our Roaring Fork Safe Passages projects are moving forward.

After Pitkin County agreed to fund a feasibility study for wildlife crossings, Roaring Fork Safe Passages went on an EcoFlight on Monday. Colorado’s Wildlife Collision Prevention Act is also making its way to the state house floor, which would fund similar projects.

🎉 Big news for wildlife and our valley community — Pitkin County has committed $200,000 to support Roaring Fork Safe Passages' engineering feasibility studies for wildlife crossings on Highway 82.

A thank you to the Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners for voting in favor of this investment for safer roads and thriving wildlife corridors. 🦌🐻

SB26-141 — the Wildlife Collision Prevention Act — has cleared its first hurdles at the Colorado Capitol. The bill would create an optional $5 fee at annual vehicle registration to fund crossings like the ones we're working to build right here on Highway 82.
