🌷🚑 Spring Has Sprung in EMS 🚑🌷
With the arrival of spring comes warmer weather, longer days… and a whole new set of challenges for EMS providers.
While many people are enjoying the sunshine, EMS crews are seeing the seasonal shift firsthand:
Increased motor vehicle crashes as more drivers hit the road
A rise in allergy-related breathing issues
Injuries from outdoor activities and yard work
Muddy roads and unpredictable conditions that make responses more difficult
Spring also brings rapidly changing temperatures, which can impact both patients and responders. One minute it’s warm and sunny, the next it’s cold and wet — and emergency calls don’t wait for perfect weather.
Behind the scenes, ambulances and crews are working through it all — navigating dirt roads, mud, and tough conditions to reach those in need. What may look like a messy ambulance is often a sign of the dedication it takes to respond, no matter the environment.
🚑 A Reminder to the Community:
Drive cautiously, especially during the first warm days of the season
Take breaks and use proper techniques during outdoor work
Stay aware of allergy symptoms and seek help if breathing becomes difficult
Remember that changing weather can impact your health and safety
Spring is a beautiful time of year, but it also serves as a reminder that emergencies can happen anytime.
Your local EMS providers are always ready — in every season, in every condition.
The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today
