📚🏫 THANK YOU, KYLE WARD, FOR JOINING US!

Last night, the Mountain View Ruritan Club had the pleasure of welcoming Kyle Ward, candidate for the Alamance-Burlington School Board, as our guest speaker!

With 30 years of experience in education, including 25 years coaching basketball and serving as Athletic Director at Graham High School, Kyle shared his passion for education, his concerns about our school system, and his vision for the future of ABSS.

🎯 Kyle shared several priorities he believes are essential to moving our schools forward:

✅ Responsible Spending – Making sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely, reducing wasteful spending, and addressing problems before they become costly issues.

✅ Recruiting & Retaining Great Teachers – Keeping exceptional educators and administrators in Alamance County classrooms.

✅ Better Teacher Compensation – Recognizing that our teachers deserve competitive pay, respect, and appreciation for the work they do every day.

✅ Mentorship & Leadership – Supporting current employees, encouraging mentorship, and creating opportunities for advancement within our school system.

✅ PUTTING STUDENTS FIRST! – Ensuring that every decision made by the school board focuses on what is best for our children and their education.

💬 One statement Kyle shared really stood out:

"The good Lord gave you two ears and one mouth to listen twice as much as you talk."

Kyle emphasized the importance of honesty, fairness, consistency, and accountability in leadership.

Our members also had the opportunity to ask questions about some of the challenges facing ABSS, including:

🔹 Mold remediation and school facility conditions
🔹 Student transfers and athletic recruiting
🔹 School performance and outside consulting expenses
🔹 Teacher supplements and compensation
🔹 Accountability within district leadership

We appreciate Kyle taking the time to visit our club, share his perspective, and answer questions from our members and community.
