Spirit Canine Rescue - small, all volunteers, foster based rescue (501c3) We DO NOT allow dogs off leash!

We are a small, nonprofit 501(c)3, volunteer- and foster-based rescue. Dogs in our foster homes are socialized, rehabilitated and trained, and receive all needed vet care. We match dogs with their perfect permanent, loving homes (indoor ONLY) through our adoption application process. Dogs must be on a leash AT ALL TIMES or a secure fenced in yard! We do require a home visit prior to foster/adoptio

n! Our fosters take dogs into their homes, in a family environment. We rely on donations from supporters, as well as fundraisers, to cover veterinary care, food, and supplies in support of our dogs and foster families. Since we are a small, community-based rescue, we are limited in the number of dogs we are able to bring into the program at any time. The sooner a dog is adopted, the sooner we can help another! While the majority of our volunteers are located in Alamance County, we also have volunteers based in other parts of North Carolina. Our priority is selecting dogs for our program is to focus on local area shelters or emergency cases from within our community of Alamance County. Occasionally, we may take in owner surrenders. For owner surrenders, we require a signed from with proof of ownership that relinquish the dog to our rescue. We reserve the right to deny any dog for any reason including space, temperament, resources, bite history, etc. If you observe cruelty or neglect, please immediately call your local Animal Control or police department.
