# 🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR DUCKY! 🐾🦆
Meet Griffin, affectionately known as **Ducky!** ❤️
Ducky came to SVPS in May after being found severely emaciated and never claimed by an owner. His past is a bit of a mystery, but his physical condition tells us that life wasn't very kind to him.
Due to long-term malnutrition and what we suspect was extended confinement in a kennel that was far too small, Ducky has some unique physical features. He has laxity in the joints of his toes and wrists, giving him big, flat, splayed-out feet. And that's how he earned the nickname Ducky! 🦆
**Ducky has come an incredibly long way since May, but his journey isn't over, and he urgently needs a new foster home!**
We're looking for someone who can help him continue building strength in his legs through rehabilitation exercises. Don't worry, you don't need to be an expert! We have someone who will provide training and guidance so you can help Ducky continue making progress.
❤️ **So, what's Ducky like?**
Ducky is an absolute sweetheart who LOVES people! He's affectionate, enthusiastic, and sometimes a little too enthusiastic about getting your attention.
One of the behaviors we're working on is his tendency to be mouthy. Ducky likes to grab hands or legs with his mouth when he wants attention or is trying to lead you somewhere. **He has never bitten anyone**, but this is a behavior that needs continued training and consistency. Because of this, we're looking for a home with adults or dog-savvy teenagers only. No younger children, please.
🐕 **What about other dogs?**
Ducky LOVES other dogs, but he hasn't quite mastered the art of reading their social cues. He can be a bit of a pest, especially when another dog has decided playtime is over!
We think a lot of this comes from his past. Ducky didn't get to experience the kind of life where dogs learn to play, socialize, and understand boundaries. In many ways, he's like an oversized puppy who is still figuring things out.
He can absolutely live with other dogs, but we'll require a successful meet and greet. Any resident dogs should be tolerant of his enthusiasm and have a space where they can retreat when they've had enough.
** What does SVPS provide?**
Everything Ducky needs! That includes:
- Food and supplies
- Equipment
- Veterinary care through Salish Veterinary Hospital
- Guidance and training for his rehabilitation exercises
- Support as you work through his training needs
**What do we ask of you?**
Your time, patience, love, and a willingness to help Ducky continue learning and growing. We also ask fosters to provide transportation to veterinary appointments, training, and other necessary outings when we don't have a volunteer available to help.
Ducky has already overcome so much. He went from a severely malnourished dog with a heartbreaking past to a happy, affectionate boy who is learning what it means to enjoy life.
**He doesn't need a perfect foster. He needs someone patient, committed, and willing to help him become the best version of himself.**
We don't know exactly what Ducky endured before coming to us, but we do know he deserves a wonderful future.
