In case you need convincing of the value of greenbelts and the interconnectedness of our watersheds, here’s some proof 🦦. Spotted in Crystal Lake, adjacent to Hooven Forest and connected through shared wetlands and the Hooven and Crystal Lake Bogs, were two North American River Otters! Despite their name they are much more commonly found on the Washington coast and islands and this is the farthest inland I’ve ever seen them. Greenbelts like those through the Bear Creek Watershed including Hooven and Paradise Valley really do provide essential connective tissue for thriving aquatic and terrestrial wildlife.
