Are you ready for kickball!? The Georgia Section ITE Young Members joint kickball tournament is happening THIS weekend! 🏐

We are excited to co-host this event with ACEC Georgia, ASCE - Georgia Section Younger Members, ASHE Georgia, Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP), NSBE Atlanta Professionals Chapter, SHPE Georgia, WTS Atlanta, and Young Professionals in Transportation International (YPT) Atlanta Chapter.

Our location has changed but we’re still gearing up to have a ball (pun intended 😋) Join us at Oakhurst Baseball Field 1 at 11 AM on Saturday, September 6th!

Whether you want to play on a team or cheer on your fellow professionals, we can’t wait to see you there! 🤝✨

Registration is open! The 15th Annual ITE/ASHE Transportation Winter Workshop will be a hybrid in-person/virtual conference
and will take place on Sunday, March 2nd, and Monday, March 3rd at Hyatt Regency in Greenville, South Carolina!

The Transportation Winter Workshop is a 1 ½ day joint conference hosted by Georgia Section ITE and the
Georgia Chapter of ASHE held annually. Containing technical sessions, group projects (in-person only),
networking, and social events, the workshop is packed full of opportunities to learn the latest happenings and
meet other professionals in the transportation industry!

Attention students! 🎓🚗 It’s scholarship season and GAITE’s Transportation Engineering Scholarship applications are now open! 🙌 This scholarship is available to undergraduate or graduate students in Georgia who are interested in pursuing a career in transportation engineering. 🛣️

Since 1986, the scholarship program has awarded over $250,000 to Georgia college students. 💰 In 2023 scholarship awards ranged from $1,000-7,000 and totalled $32,500.

Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to help fund your education! The deadline for applications is November 24, 2024. Apply now at gaite.org/scholarship. 📝

We are excited to announce the Annual Georgia ITE Golf Tournament! All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Traffic Engineer of the Future Scholarship, something that ITE has supported for over 10 years! The tournament will be held as a 4-person scramble format at the Country Club of Gwinnett. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, longest drive, and closest to the pin! Limited to the first 144 golfers.

Join the Georgia Section Institute of Transportation Engineers (GAITE) and the Georgia Chapter of the American Planning Association (GPA) for a joint meeting and lunch to hear about local government efforts around planning and designing safer streets and roads using federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) funding. PDHs and CM credits available!

The Georgia ITE young member comittee joined together to cheer on the Atlanta United ⚽️ on Sunday June 2. Atlanta was challenged by the Charlotte Football Club. Big thank you to All Traffic Data for sponsoring the gathering!!!

Shoutout to our incredible GAITE Young Member Committee! Last Saturday, May 11, 2024, they teamed up with Trees Atlanta for a rewarding volunteering work at Historic Howell Station. Together, they cared for around 55 trees in the neighborhood, spreading mulch and removing weeds. Huge thanks to all our dedicated volunteers for making a positive impact!

Registration for our May 17th meeting is open. We will have a panel discussion on how all the federal funding coming to Georgia and the Atlanta Region will reshape our communities and improve the quality of life. Featured projects/programs will include, but not limited to, the Stitch, the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Community Grant, BeltLine and Flint River Multi Use Trail Connection Project, and the PROTECT Grant to develop a regional Resilience Improvement Plan.
