We made it!!

The kids have worked long and hard to finish their pumpkins for the pumpkin patch. Lots of glue, lots of table cloths haha, lots of paper, lots of washing, and a little paint.

Each student created a paper mache pumpkin this year for the fall festival booth that was going to be the TOP pumpkin patch. We also had a coloring contest (background pieces) in which the winner got to paint their very own "huge" canvas. We had a winner from each grade then a final winner, Miss Kaydence Tankersley. She created a beautiful center piece for the booth.

Due to some unforseen and unfortunate circumstances and some missing parts, we were unable to decorate our booth this year but a HUGE thank you to Mike Gibson and the guys helping with the Fall Festival for putting the booth together for us and the kids. I know the kids enjoyed seeing their hard work displayed.

The tic tax toe boards were a hit too. We seen several people enjoying our life size boards including our very own TOP kids.

For the month of May and our final service learning project, the Hancock Teen Outreach Program decided to make Appreciation Frames for our First Responders. In honor of Nurses Week, EMS Week, and our local Law Enforcement, each student helped create a frame with a special saying for each group. Nurses, law enforcement, correctional officers, emts, paramedics, and even our student drivers at the EMS had their very own frame and saying. The students stained the frames, painted a creative background with the specific color in honor of the profession they chose, sealed the painting and glued it all together. A special thank you to Tommy Belcher and his students for putting the frames together for our students.

We appreciate our first responders for all that they do for anyone in their time of need. Whether it be restarting someone's heart, getting them to safety in a dangerous situation, or simply taking care of them when they are at their worst, it takes courage to be a first responder. It takes a willingness to put your fears behind you and take care of someone else when they need it most. Thank you for your sacrifices and all that you do.

We do have more things in store for those who we missed this time so be looking out for that soon.

Yesterday the Hancock Teen Outreach Program Youth Leadership Group partnered with the Hancock County Health Department to update the stencils at the community park.

The kids worked so hard and even added their own design to one of the stencils on the trail. The finished products were amazing. We are so proud of our kids.

The Hancock Teen Outrech Programs' Annual Community Forum was a success.

Members of the community were invited to come and discuss the things that they see a need for in the community. Everyone also got to discuss their own businesses and jobs and ways that they work in the community themselves.

We had a total of 17 community members present.
