At this year’s Army Ten-Miler, Conor McNamara ran for Drew.

In his words: “I had the honor and privilege to run in memory of Drew at the 2026 Army 10 miler. Was truly blessed to be paired with Drew and looking forward to helping carry on his honor moving forward.”

What a weekend. Families and teammates from 18 states, more than 20,000 miles traveled, 67 heroes carried forward together in DC.
Drew was one of them.

Today we honor Capt. Garrett Pearson, USMC. He died October 3 during a MARSOC training exercise off the coast of South Florida. He was 30.

Before the Marine Corps, Garrett played four years of baseball at VCU in Richmond. His teammates remember someone who put others first. He kept doing that in uniform.

Some of our friends served alongside him. This one is close to home.

He leaves behind his wife, Autumn, and their two young daughters.

Semper Fi, Captain.

Twenty-five years ago today, the war in Afghanistan began. It opened the Global War on Terror, a fight that continues still, more than two decades on.

According to the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation more than 3.7 million Americans have served since 9/11, and more than 7,000 have given their lives. Families across this country carry them every day.

Drew was one of them. So were the men and women some of you knew, loved, served beside, and still carry.

Today we remember all of them. The ones who served, the ones who fell, and the families who keep their names alive.

Drew's dad taught him to build. Not in a class, but the way fathers do: countless hours of conversation, learning how to do things, working with wood side by side.

Today that work continues in a new workshop dedicated to Drew's legacy. Stephen leads the Drew Ross Memorial Foundation's Flag Building program, where veterans come to build American flags by hand. The foundation calls it recreational therapy and PTSD support through artistic expression. The vets who come call it something simpler: a place to breathe.

Drew's flag hangs on the wall above them. De Oppresso Liber. ODA 3126. The work goes on in his name.

Task Force Ross: A Green Beret Story is a documentary about Drew's life and the legacy he left behind. This program is part of that story. It's in the works now, and we need your help bringing it to the screen.

Over the Army Ten-Miler weekend, we're rucking the National Mall with Patriots SIX Alliance and Legacies Alive. Every step carries a name. Every team member carries a fallen hero and their Gold Star family.

But you don't have to be in D.C. to carry them with us.

Wherever you are on October 11, throw on a DRMF shirt if you have one, grab your pack, and go for a ruck. One mile or ten. Around the block or around your town.

Carry someone with you. A name, a face, a memory. Then send us your photo and tell us who you carried.

We'll be sharing them all week. Because legacy doesn't live in one place. It lives in everyone who picks up the weight and keeps moving.

Ruck with us. Tag us or send your photo, and we'll carry them forward together.

Today is Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day.

This is what Drew's life looked like. A little brother on the steps. A son at the beach. An uncle with a kid on each knee. A loving husband and dog dad.

Behind every fallen service member is a family who made them who they were, and who carries them still, every day, not just today.

To every Gold Star family reading this: they are still yours, and we carry them alongside you.

Before he was a Green Beret, Drew was a kid from Virginia who loved the game.

He grew up chasing a soccer ball, playing with somebody's dog on the sidelines at VMI. Drew would play with anybody's dog. That kid went to West Point. Then to the Q Course. Then to Afghanistan.

Task Force Ross: A Green Beret Story follows the whole arc, told by the people who were there. His family. His friends. His teammates.

The film comes out in 2027. We need your help bringing it to the screen. Every gift moves it closer.
