That's a wrap on an incredible weekend of reset, friendly competition, and expert support.

Big congrats to Kevin Cagle with Onslow Bay Waterman Charters for taking home the trophy for "Most Fish" at this weekend's 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙄𝙏 retreat! 🏆🐟

Growth doesn't happen by accident. It takes stepping away from the noise, leaning into friendly competition, and getting the right support system around you. We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the leaders who stepped up to guide our discussions, share wisdom, and support our men:

Marty Rad
Mike Poggi
Michael Monk
John W. Green Jr.
Fred Galvin
Jason Kelloway
John Lesnik

Thank you for holding space, building up our guys, and providing the tools needed for a strong, grounded future.

We had an incredible weekend bringing our veterans together out on the water for the latest 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙄𝙏 retreat!

A massive shoutout to Southern Breeze Seafood LLC (Randy Millis and John Mallette) for keeping everyone fueled with an incredible low country boil for over 30 veterans! Huge thanks as well to Pelagic Hunter Fishing Center at New River Marina for hosting our fishing slam, and to PFL Marine Construction (Joshua Barber) for their generous support of our mission.

From early morning dockside prep with our incredible charter captains—Carolina Flats Fishing (Adam Wallace), Onslow Bay Waterman Charters (Kevin Cagle), Gunny B Outdoors, Specktacular Inshore Charters & Eco Tours, Marker23 Guide Service, and Mike Perella—to opening the weekend in prayer with USMC Vet & Pastor Dwayne Collins of North Topsail Shores Baptist Church, the camaraderie on the water was unmatched.

Want to join in on the action for our next retreat? Find out how at www.SpearITFishing.com or message us for more info.

Disconnect from the noise.

Connection doesn't have to be complicated: step outside, unplug, and take a moment to connect with nature, with the Creator, and with the people standing right beside you.

You weren't meant to carry it all alone. Reach out, check on your brothers, and remember that asking for help is a sign of strength.

We're in this together.

𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝟬𝟲𝟯𝟬, we’re gathering at the Pelagic Hunter Fishing Center at New River Marina in Sneads Ferry.

We’ve got 12–15 veterans and active duty service members gearing up to hit the water across 6 boats guided by our incredible local charter captain volunteers. Before they cast off, Pastor and USMC Vet Dwayne Collins of North Topsail Shores Baptist Church will be leading us all in prayer.

Your presence would mean the world to us as we prepare to pour into these men, cover them in prayer, and share our beautiful coastal fishing with them. Come stand with us and send them off right.

Mark your calendars. 📅
See you next Friday morning.

10/02/2026

Mark your calendars: November 9-11, we're heading out for our 2026 Fall Duck Hunting Retreat.

We’ve got 8 veterans locked in for a solid few days covering ground you can't get anywhere else. Think early mornings in the blind for a duck hunt, cold plunges and sauna therapy to reset the nervous system, and deep campfire discussions around faith, identity, and purpose.

First and foremost, we’d appreciate your prayers for these 8 men and the impact this retreat will have on them.

While our roster is full, we're always looking for partners to help sponsor these experiences and keep the mission moving forward. If you want to help back this upcoming retreat, head over to www.spearitfishing.com to see how you can support.

Huge shoutout to Kelly Grunke and the Alpha Wave Project for partnering with us on our retreats. Through powerful breathwork, guided meditation, cold plunges, and sauna therapy, Kelly and his team help our veterans and responders break through isolation and find real healing.

We’re grateful for experts who step up and pour into this mission. Want to support the work or get involved?

Check out www.AlphaWaveProject.org and www.SpearITFishing.com to learn how.

Desert Storm Marine veteran Bill Amlotte spent years working behind the scenes to support our mission. For the longest time, whenever his wife Shelley tried to get him to come as a participant, he’d say the classic veteran line: “I don’t need it, someone else needs it more.”

When he finally stepped into the boat for our June retreat, he realized what he'd been missing. Isolation makes us vulnerable, but as Hebrews 10:25 reminds us not to forsake the gathering of the saints, Bill found that the fellowship and mutual encouragement were exactly what he needed.

That bond isn't just for the weekend, either. When Bill later found himself in the hospital fighting for his life, those same brothers rallied around him in prayer and support.

Come experience that strength with us, whether as a participant or a volunteer. We welcome your support in keeping this mission moving forward. Visit www.spearitfishing.com to learn more.
