Middlesex County is facing a growing mental health and substance use crisis—one that deeply affects our youth, families, and our rural community as a whole. The Community Mental Health & Wellness Summit brings together residents, parents, educators, faith leaders, healthcare professionals, and community partners to address urgent needs, remove barriers to care, and create community-driven solutions.

🚨 Why This Summit Is Needed
The data and lived experiences in our community tell a powerful story:
🔹 Su***de Risk Among Youth
• Recent state-level trends show increasing su***de deaths among youth ages 10–19.
• Nationally, young people report high levels of suicidal thoughts and attempts, signaling the need for early intervention, prevention education, and accessible support—especially in rural areas like Middlesex County.
🔹 Youth Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
• Substance use frequently begins during adolescence, including va**ng, alcohol, and ma*****na, and is closely linked to later mental health challenges and increased su***de risk.
• While county-specific data are limited, regional and statewide school-based surveys indicate troubling trends that directly impact our youth and families.
