When did staying informed start feeling so exhausting?

Between the constant headlines, political noise, and uncertainty about the future, it's understandable why so many people feel overwhelmed and disconnected.

But there's a difference between protecting your peace and disconnecting from the decisions that shape our communities.

In this installment of The Civic Read, we're exploring the psychology of political exhaustion, how disengagement can take hold, and why staying informed matters even when the conversation feels overwhelming.

Civic engagement doesn't require knowing everything, agreeing with everyone, or staying plugged into the news 24/7. It begins with curiosity, credible information, and a willingness to understand the issues that affect our everyday lives.

As we approach Georgia's November 3, 2026 General Election, we encourage you to take a moment to learn about the offices, candidates, and issues on your ballot.

Today, on International Day of the Girl Child, we celebrate the brilliance, resilience, courage, and limitless potential of girls everywhere.

Every girl deserves to be seen, heard, valued, protected, and empowered to become everything she dreams of being. Our responsibility is not simply to tell girls they can change the world, but to create spaces where they have the confidence, opportunities, and support to do just that.

Join us for Healthy Bodies, Informed Choices: A Conversation on Wellness, Nutrition, Physical Health & Weight Management Medications on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at the Wellstar Vinings Health Park.

This engaging event will feature a panel discussion focused on physical health and wellness, including nutrition, metabolic disease, and weight-loss medications. Following the discussion, attendees will participate in a fun, light physical activity session designed for all fitness levels.

The first 50 attendees will receive a healthy eating goodie bag, and voter registration opportunities will be available on-site.
