The City of Smyrna Water & Sewer Division will begin replacing all City water meters within the next 1–3 weeks, weather and material availability permitting. This citywide project is an investment in modernizing our water infrastructure and improving the reliability and accuracy of our water system.

To ensure an efficient installation process, work will be completed in phases by section throughout the city. Residents will receive additional information before work begins in their area. The project is expected to continue through late 2027.

Work Hours
🕖 Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
(No work will be performed on holidays or weekends.)

What to Expect
🔹 Water meters located within the public right-of-way will be replaced.
🔹 Work will be completed by designated sections rather than throughout the entire city at once.
🔹 Public Works will restore any disturbed areas after installation is complete.
🔹 If you have privately installed improvements within the public right-of-way—such as irrigation systems, landscape lighting, invisible pet fence wiring, or other utilities—please mark or relocate them before work begins. In accordance with City Ordinance Section 90-4, the City of Smyrna is not responsible for repairing privately installed utilities located within the public right-of-way.
🔹 Temporary water service interruptions may occur during your meter replacement. Crews will work to restore service as quickly as possible.
🔹 Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and complete the work safely and efficiently.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure improvement for our community. These upgrades will help provide a more reliable and accurate water system for years to come.
