Dreams and Dignity Foundation provides funding and resources to support opportunities for Haitian children and their families in St. Ard, Haiti

Dreams and Dignity Foundation is the brainchild of Jean Benjamin, a native of Arcahaie, Haiti. He founded the organization then called Education Beyond Borders in 2007 with his wife Tikica Benjamin and good friend Richard Williams. Growing up in Haiti, just 30 miles outside of the capital city of Port au Prince, Jean experienced first hand the daily struggles that most people there still face toda

y. The organization initially began with the mission of providing educational scholarships to Haitian children in his home town. Unlike in the US, there is no free public education and therefore many children either attend school only sporadically or don't attend at all. Jean realized however, that the need was much bigger. While school is important, many Haitian children don't have other essentials such as food and clothing, not to mention things like toys and books that we take for granted. Without these things, many Haitian children and their families cannot dream of more or of better lives as they live each day struggling to maintain some since of dignity in their poverty and struggles. At Dreams and Dignity Foundation, we have a desire to see all children dream...dream of what they could be, what they could do and how they can one day change the world.
