Sometimes the problem isn't that we don't know where we're going.

Sometimes the real challenge is seeing clearly.

Exhaustion.
Disappointment.
Fear.
Unresolved emotions.
Too many opinions.

All of these can create a fog that makes even simple decisions feel overwhelming.

This week on the blog, I'm exploring a question that has been on my heart:

"What is clouding your vision?"

Because before we focus on what's next, we may need to identify what needs to be cleared.

I thought I was getting better.

Then another setback came.

This month reminded me that recovery isn't always a straight line. Sometimes healing includes unexpected detours, difficult days, and moments that make you question your progress.

But I'm learning that setbacks don't erase growth.

Whether you're recovering physically, emotionally, spiritually, or mentally, I hope this week's reflection reminds you to give yourself grace.

Progress isn't always measured by speed.

Sometimes it's measured by perseverance.

New post: "Recovery Isn't Linear"

Sometimes Healing Takes Detours There is a belief many of us quietly carry: If I do the right things, I should keep moving forward. If I rest, eat better, pray, exercise, take my supplements, creat…

Strong doesn’t always look the way we were taught.

For a long time, I thought strength meant not breaking.
Not crying.
Not slowing down.
Not letting people see what hurt me.

I thought strength meant:
Keep going.
Push through.
Carry it quietly.

But wisdom changed my understanding.

Now I know—
strength is not the absence of pain.

Strength is how you carry yourself through it.

It’s getting up in the morning when life feels heavy.
It’s showing up while healing.
It’s the tears in the shower no one sees.
It’s allowing yourself to feel without shame.

Sometimes strength looks like pausing.
Breathing.
Acknowledging what is happening within you instead of pretending you’re unaffected.

You are not defined by what hurt you.
You are not what tried to break you.

True strength is not performance.

It is presence.
It is honesty.
It is choosing to live fully while healing honestly.

This is Optimum Living.

Not pretending to be whole—
but becoming whole, one honest moment at a time.

And maybe that is the strongest thing you will ever do. Redefining strength changed the way I live. What does strength look like for you now?”

For a while, life required more living than writing.

This season has stretched me through caregiving, grief, growth, quiet wins, deep reflection, and learning what it truly means to live fully while leading boldly.

After months away from the blog, I’m returning with deeper wisdom, greater intentionality, and a renewed focus on emotional wellness, meaningful living, faith, and optimum living from the inside out.

This post is personal. Honest. Reflective. And maybe exactly what someone else needs in this season too.

If you’ve been navigating heavy moments while still trying to show up for life, purpose, family, leadership, or even yourself… this is for you.

New on the blog: "Returning To The Table!"

Live fully. Lead boldly. Grow intentionally.

Legacy is forward thinking—you don’t get to see it because it’s what you leave behind. 🌱 It takes faith: the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. When you leave a space, ask yourself: what seed am I planting, and in whose heart will it grow? 💫🙏

From sleepless nights with seven little ones to watching them raise children of their own - what a journey it’s been. 💕

Those early years were filled with tears, countless prayers, and moments when I wondered if I was doing anything right. But here’s what I know for certain: I regret nothing. If given the chance, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Through the beautiful chaos of raising seven children, I discovered something powerful - there are foundational principles that work, no matter the season of parenting you’re in. These aren’t just theories; they’re battle-tested truths learned in the trenches of real family life.

Now, as I watch my grown children parent their own little ones, I see these same principles at work. Love transcends generations. Intentional parenting creates lasting impact. The foundation we build today shapes tomorrow’s families.

It’s both an honor and a privilege to share everything I’ve learned with you in ‘Just Appetizers: Building Blocks of Parenting.’ These principles have stood the test of time in our family, and I believe they’ll nurture and develop your children too.

My book is now available! Grab a copy for yourself and share one with another parent who needs these timeless truths. 📚

As a mom of seven, I’ve learned that empathy isn’t just about understanding our children—it’s about creating the conditions where they can truly flourish.

When we approach our kids with empathy:
💚 We see their behavior as communication, not defiance
💚 We validate their feelings before addressing the issue
💚 We create safety for them to be authentically themselves
💚 We model the emotional intelligence we want them to develop

Just like a seedling needs consistent sunlight to grow strong, our children need consistent empathy to reach their full potential.

In ‘Just Appetizers: Building Blocks of Parenting,’ I dive deep into how empathy becomes the foundation for everything else—discipline, communication, and building lifelong connections with our kids.

22 years old, pregnant with my second baby (Jessica), and carrying so much more than I knew… 💕

If I could whisper to this young mama: “You are exactly where you need to be. In this season of stretching and growing, you’re not just carrying a child - you’re carrying a legacy. Those sleepless nights, the challenges, the feeling like life is passing you by… it’s all building something beautiful.

This journey into motherhood isn’t shrinking your dreams - it’s expanding them in ways you can’t even imagine. You’ll become a leader, an author, a coach, a mentor. Your value isn’t decreasing; it’s multiplying with each little heartbeat you nurture.

Seven children will call you blessed. Seven reasons to grow into the woman you’re becoming. The sacrifices feel heavy now, but the joy that’s coming… oh, the joy.

Keep going, mama. You’re doing better than you think.” ✨
